Now What?

We’re so excited about the decision you’ve made to follow Jesus Christ!  We want you to know that you have made the best decision of your life.   As you start out on this new journey with Christ, you will begin to discover who God is and how to follow Him in your daily life.

There are several vital avenues for your spiritual growth:

  1. Read God’s Word (the Bible) daily – This is how He speaks to you. As you learn more about Him and obey His Word, you will become more like Him. We suggest that you start in the Gospel of John.

  2. Pray daily – Prayer is simply communicating with God. As you pray to your Heavenly Father, you can praise Him for who He is, thank Him for what He has done, ask Him for forgiveness of your sins, and lay your requests before Him. God loves you and wants to communicate with you daily!  We also have a simple plan to do this. We call it “Abiding.”  Many people want to do this, but they need a plan.  We have a simple plan for you at iAbide.org.  This plan helps you in reading God’s word (the Bible), praise we call “Gratitude” and your daily prayer, conversation with Him.

  3. Attend a Christ-centered, Bible-believing group; fellowship – This will help you grow in your new life in Christ, as you learn from the teaching of God’s Word with other believers. You will also experience fellowship and encouragement as you engage with other Christ-followers in your community.

  4. Share your faith – Once you have begun to experience Christ at work in your life, you will want to share His love and forgiveness with others. In Matthew 5, Jesus calls His followers to be “lights” to the world. We are to shine brightly for God, making His name known and glorified in all the earth.

Committing your life to Jesus is a big step, full of newness, excitement, hope and questions. Becoming a Christian doesn’t mean that you suddenly understand everything needed for your new life with Christ. You may have some questions about what it means to be a Christian and what God has to say about real life issues.
