The Great Exchange | Our Earthly Bodies for Our Heavenly Bodies It’s Time to Start Looking for the City, the New Jerusalem

The resurrection of Christ is the cornerstone of our faith, promising not just the victory over sin, but the transformation of our earthly bodies into heavenly ones. As believers, we look forward to shedding our perishable, dishonorable, and weak bodies for ones that are imperishable, glorious, and powerful. This transformation is beautifully illustrated through Jesus' resurrected body, which could communicate, appear in different forms, walk through walls, and was no longer bound by earthly physics. Just as He ascended to heaven, free from the constraints of gravity, we too will experience this glorious freedom. In our heavenly bodies, we will live eternally with God, free from sickness, pain, and death. We will walk through the gates of the New Jerusalem, a city whose foundations are named after the apostles, and live in the fullness of God's glory. This promise of resurrection and eternal life should inspire us to stand firm in our faith, knowing that our labor in the Lord is not in vain. As we eagerly await our Savior, let us encourage one another with the hope of our heavenly transformation, looking forward to the day we will dwell with God forever in our imperishable, powerful, and glorified bodies.
