God’s perfect timing when He birthed His Church through His Son, Jesus Christ, by the outpouring of His Spirit occurred when “God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven” were in Jerusalem. It was at this moment that the Tower of Babel’s confusion was removed, and everyone, though they spoke different languages, understood in their own language through what God demonstrated through His Holy Spirit. It was after this awesome birthing of the Church that the twelve apostles stood up in the midst of this crowd, and Peter began to explain what had just taken place. It is this explanation of the Holy Spirit and the journey of Jesus Christ that Peter makes clear to us and to those listening what happened, why it happened, and that every individual has to decide in their own heart if they personally are going to be saved. He made the Gospel message so clear that over 3,000 were saved that day by making Jesus Christ the Lord of their life.

The Promised Holy Spirit: Wait for the Promise of Our Father; POWER to do His Will and to do all Jesus did – Part 2
The birth of the Church was an amazing, powerful, and explosive moment in the Spirit. This teaching offers insight into God’s promise and demonstrates how we, as sons and daughters of God, are empowered by God’s Holy Spirit to fulfill all that the Lord has called us to do. This will not only greatly encourage you but also transform your life and walk. Jesus came from heaven, born as a man, and lived as both fully man and fully God, leading a sinless life. His life and ministry revealed the Father, His Father, and our Father, to us. Yet, as He was preparing to return to the Father, He gave His disciples specific instructions: “Wait for the Promise of My Father.” Discover what this promise is, why it is important to wait for it, and how it is impossible to accomplish what the Lord has called us to do without the promised Holy Spirit.

The Promised Holy Spirit: Crank it Up a Notch God! Asking for Boldness in Times of Persecution – Part 1
Many times, when we face persecution for our faith, we are tempted to defend ourselves and our reputations through our words, actions, or even legal counsel. However, we learn from the disciples’ example that defending oneself was the last thing they did when faced with persecution and threats from those whose hands were still dripping with the guilt of killing the Son of God, Jesus. In times of persecution and threat, they prayed for God to amplify the very actions that had brought persecution upon them. It’s as if they prayed, “God, crank it up a notch,” because they sought boldness to further provoke their adversaries, or more accurately, the enemies of God. Be encouraged as you learn about their journey and the empowerment they received from the Lord, who shook the very place they were in and filled everyone with the Holy Spirit, enabling them to speak the Word of God with boldness.
