#WordAtWork “We also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.” 1 Thessalonians 2:13
LISTEN NOW! With today’s 24/7 media cycle, it appears that the constant incoming information of headlines is causing more division and strife in our nation and generation than ever witnessed before. So, what do we do? How do we respond? Is there any option out there to combat the increasing volume of hatred in the world? Jesus said to love our enemies and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr showed us how to love our enemies by the life that he lived. We can learn so much by doing what Jesus commanded us to do and imitating the life that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr walked out. Some can often ask what it looks like to walk out what Jesus commanded each and every one of us to do. By revisiting the actions of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. we can see ourselves imitating the faith of those who have gone before us. Be encouraged and empowered as we revisit Dr King together.

The Supreme Court ruled 6-3 on Monday morning in favor of a Washington state high school football coach who was fired from his job for silently praying on the field after games.
Coach Joe Kennedy has been battling the Bremerton School District since 2015. The district claimed that his prayers violated the Establishment Clause of the U.S. Constitution. But the high court has now ruled that Bremerton School District actually violated Coach Kennedy’s First Amendment rights.
SCOTUS Blog tweeted, “SCOTUS sides with a high school football coach in a First Amendment case about prayer at the 50-yard-line. In a 6-3 ruling, SCOTUS says the public school district violated the coach’s free speech and free exercise rights when it barred him from praying on the field after games.”
#Truth “O’ that I might know Him…” Everything we know about God is not the center of God’s universe, it is our limitations of what we know about God’s universe. For Jesus, Himself, is at the center of God’s universe. To know Jesus and learn more about Jesus is to know more about God’s universe and Him Who sits in its epicenter until everything has been place under His feet. Then, at that time, Jesus, will lay it ALL DOWN at the feet of God, Who is the center of ALL THINGS. Philippians 3:9-11; Colossians 1:15-20; Ephesians 1:22-23; 1 Corinthians 15:24-26
There is nothing worse that having a nice meal with either no salt or not enough salt. For years, many years, sad to say, I did not understand the “how of salt”. I though that you just “add salt” to your food and this would give you food and salt, like salt was another “food item.” I was mistaken. You see, salt is an amazing thing. Not enough salt and it leaves the food tasteless, too much salt and it ruins the food, yet in other circumstances lots of salt can preserve food. Salt is not another “food item,” it is added to “bring out the flavor” of the food that you add it to. God created the universe, the earth, sky and sea, and yes, He created you and me. Jesus tells us, that as His followers, we are “the salt of the earth” and the Apostle Paul tells us to “Let our conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, SO THAT you may know how to answer everyone.” It is interesting that he says, “how to answer everyone” and not to “know the answer for everyone.” You see, each of us are created uniquely different, yet we are all created in God’s image and likeness. Our conversation about the things of God to those who we encounter is not a “rubber stamp” and “factoids” cranked off like those words of the religious Pharisees. No, it is the adding of the salt in each unique conversation, truth filled with grace, that brings out a unique flavor of experience and presentation that you may have never shared before and may never share again. It will be the salt on each encounter, each relationship, each experience that brings something out that only God knew was there. Yes, the truth of God is never changing, but the presentation of that truth, the grace of how we share that truth all depend on us seasoning it with just the right amount of salt. The salt of God’s Word. Colossians 4:6
Since the beginning of time, when our God created the heavens, earth, and man there has been a mystery. No matter how amazing those in past generations were, and many were, what I am about to share with you was a mystery to them.
God first walked with man in the garden, in the cool of the day having fellowship, man with God and God with man up until the fall of man. God was everywhere, man was down on earth. God walked along side of man and man with God until the fall.
Later God appeared to man, but He was covered in a cloud. The only one who could see God face to face was Moses, God’s friend. It was such a powerful thing to look upon our holy God that Moses’ face so powerfully shined from the impact of God’s glory on his face that he had to wear a vail to cover his face. God had to hide Moses behind a cave like rock area so that he could survive when God passed by and showed Moses His back. What an awesome God we serve. Holy, Mighty and Worthy to be praised.
Later, God sent His Son, Jesus, Who left the splenders of heaven where He and God (His Father) had fellowship in a forever place that exists outside of time. Jesus came to earth, born as a child (all God and all man), lived a sinless life, made the Father known to us with His goodness, love and compassion for us and desire to forgive us. Then Jesus paid the price for us. A price that no other one in all of earth or heaven could pay. He paid with His holy blood being sacrifice upon the cross so that a sin offering could be made before God for our sins. Now, through Jesus, our sins could be forgiven, and we could be restored into a right relationship with God as was in the Garden of Eden.
Yet, this time, God does not just walk along side of us, no, that mystery since the beginning of time now has been revealed. God dwells in us, for that mystery is “CHRIST IN YOU THE HOPE OF GLORY.” That’s right, the mystery was that God always wanted to dwell inside of man and desire man to dwell inside of Him, to “become one” as He and Jesus are one. Now by God’s Spirit, Christ dwells in the heart of every believer. Wow, now you know the mystery, God’s mystery revealed, your hope is Christ in you, the HOPE OF GLORY!
There are alarming tragic events that are happening increasingly in America. When the dust of one tragic event finally settles, it is as if there is another tragedy happening again in another part of America. Why is this happening? Why are there mass shootings taking place in America? Most recently, 19 children and two teachers lost their lives when one teenager walked into a Texas elementary school and forever changed the landscape of a community, a nation, and countless lives forever, leaving so many to ask why?
Once there was a time in our nation when people had difficulty taking the life of another human being. With the endless hours of graphic video games carrying out the digital version of these mass shootings in homes around the nation, that difficulty appears to be all but gone. Are we witnessing the destructive murders in our streets and classrooms from the consequences of digital murders?
What are we to do? How bad does it have to get for us to humble ourselves, and turn our hearts to the Lord. This is what the Lord directs us to do in 2 Chronicles 7:14, “if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
We are entering some dark times, probably the darkest days that the Earth as ever seen. What we are presently seeing in the world today is only going to increase and get worse. As the Church, we should not be surprised or worried at this reality. The darker things get, the brighter your light will be in these dark times. So, what do you do in times like this? Think about it like this: before an airplane takes off, everyone receives a safety brief about what to do in case the cabin pressure drops. In this situation, masks will come down from the ceiling. Put your mask on YOURSELF FIRST, AND THEN help the person next to you. The cabin air pressure can happen so fast, if you don’t focus on getting yourself air, you can pass out trying to help the person next to you. As followers of Jesus Christ, we want to be there for others during a time of crisis, but what about you? You may have given your life to Jesus and dedicated your life to Him, but what about your home? Why would you not dedicate everything you have to God, including your home and/or your business?
When we dedicate something to the Lord, we are declaring it holy and set apart to God. God cares about our homes. When we look at Deuteronomy 11:13-21, we can see how important our homes are, and what we do WITHIN our homes knowing they are in full view of God’s eyes. “And if you will indeed obey my commandments that I command you today, to love the Lord your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul, he will give the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the later rain, that you may gather in your grain and your wine and your oil. And he will give grass in your fields for your livestock, and you shall eat and be full. Take care lest your heart be deceived, and you turn aside and serve other gods and worship them; then the anger of the Lord will be kindled against you, and he will shut up the heavens, so that there will be no rain, and the land will yield no fruit, and you will perish quickly off the good land that the Lord is giving you. Could there be consequences happening around us because we have not dedicated our homes to the Lord, and served other gods in the home that the Lord has provided for us? Continuing to read the remainder of this verse, we see what God expects for us to do, “You shall therefore lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall teach them to your children, talking of them when you are sitting in your house, and when you are walking by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates, that your days and the days of your children may be multiplied in the land that the Lord swore to your fathers to give them, as long as the heavens are above the earth.” Think about it. God wants us to write His teachings on the doorposts of our homes. You can put a “Mezuzah” on the actual doorpost of your home, which has an actual scroll of the Old Testament from the book of Deuteronomy. This is obviously under the teachings of the Old Covenant. Jesus IS the Word of God, and when we put God’s Word on the doorpost of our homes, we also put God’s Word on the doorpost of our hearts.
When one man decided to give his life and family fully to the Lord, he was shocked to find out that there were sudden unknown sounds taking place in his home in the middle of the night. His story will surely get your attention. As Ephesians 6:12 reveals, “for we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” Truth of the matter is, there are spirits that are all around us. There are evil spirits. This is what Ephesians 6:12 is referring to. You can’t punch a spirit. You can’t stab a spirit. So, what do you do? We have to think about that which the Lord has given to us. If we have a business, or a family, or a home and we give our life to Jesus Christ, the light of Jesus comes INTO US. But, what about everything else? If we look at the life we lived before dedicating our lives to Jesus, our business, our home, our family wasn’t holy unto the Lord.
When God gave specific instructions to Moses to build the Tabernacle and the specific items to be made and placed within the Tabernacle, He instructed Moses to ANOINT these items with oil. Exodus 40:9 highlights the specific instructions the Lord gave to Moses; “Then you shall take the anointing oil and anoint the tabernacle and all that is in it, and consecrate it and all its furniture, so that it may become holy.” For us, when we are anointing something, it represents the blood of Jesus Christ. When something is holy, it is no longer used for common things, it is set apart for the Lord. It’s no longer used for sinful purposes. We can decide to do this to businesses, to furniture, and to homes. In Matthew 28:18, Jesus said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me”. This same authority has been given to you as a believer to anoint your own home. You don’t have to call on a priest or a pastor to anoint your home. You need to be able to do this yourself. Not only did Jesus give us authority, but the things we declare with our mouths in the natural impact the spiritual realm as well. Matthew 18:18 points out, ”Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” You can deal with that environment by taking authority over it with the authority that Jesus has given us. You have authority over satan and ALL of the demonic realm through the Blood of Jesus Christ and THE AUTHORITY that Jesus Christ gave you as a follower of Him. Look at what Jesus specifically said in Mark 16:15-17, “And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons…”. As believers, we have authority over every demon of hell. When we go into a place, we can tell demonic spirits to LEAVE! You might not have known that you had authority over your home, or over your business, BUT YOU DO IN JESUS CHRIST!
This is the power that Jesus Christ has provided for us when He shed His blood on the Cross. Revelation 12:22 declares, “And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.” There is power in the blood of Jesus and when we declare truth with our words. Don’t stop sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ just because you see demonic activity. There may be demonic activity happening because the church has stop teaching about the power of the blood of Jesus. When one man received a warning dream from the Lord regarding how a pastor was being spiritually attacked, it was the Blood of Jesus that overpowered this demonic attack and stopped the plans of the enemy. If we have given our lives to Jesus, we cannot continue to have open sin in our lives. If we do, the end result will be worse off than how it was before we gave our life to Jesus. This is what Jesus spoke of in Matthew 12:43-45, “When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, but finds none. Then it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when it comes, it finds the house empty, swept, and put in order. Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and dwell there, and the last state of that person is worse than the first. So also will it be with this evil generation.” We can’t play around with this reality. If we are really a disciple of Jesus, then we obey His teachings and follow His ways.
Watch “Empty House, Open Doors” by Greg Lancaster. This message address this very reality of what, why and how we should fill hearts and minds with the teachings of Jesus and to follow them.
If you are at that point in your life deciding whether you are going to dedicate your home to the Lord, you need to decide. Either its yes, or its no. I’m going to dedicate my home to God. I’m going to dedicate my business to God. If so, it’s time to deal with things. If you decide to dedicate your home and/or business to the Lord, then it’s time to decide to also live your life in these places in a holy way before the Lord. It doesn’t matter what you choose to do if you are going to continue to live a sinful lifestyle, to live with open sin in your life, home and business. It’s not that we don’t sin and repent for it; it’s when we are choosing to openly choose to live a sinful lifestyle.
If you have decided to dedicate your home and/or business to the Lord, the first thing to do is to check yourself; as 2 Corinthians 13:5 shares, “Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test!” If you failed the test, you can pass the test by receiving Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. How much more important are you than your house, or your business, or your property? If you want to give your life to Jesus and would like more information on how to do that, we have that information for you. Now that you have decided to dedicate your home and/or business to the Lord, we follow the leading of the Lord. God may show you that there are idols in your home that you previously didn’t even realize. Jonah 2:8 (NIV 1984) highlights, “Those who cling to worthless idols forsake the grace that could be there’s.” You may have stolen something before you gave your life to Jesus, or maybe you have furniture that sinful acts have been committed on before Jesus Christ came into your life. Whatever it may be, ask the Lord to show you, and He will. That doesn’t mean that you sell it at a pawn shop so that idol can end up in someone else’s home. It could be that the Lord directs you to completely destroy it. It could be music that worships the devil. It could be something on your hard drive. If we hold on to these items, we are giving satan and his demons access and authority in our lives. We do not want to forfeit the grace that God freely offers us.
When you’ve decided to dedicate your home and/or business to the Lord, carry out what the Word of God says. Use a bottle of olive oil and anoint the different areas of your home or business. Walk through the different areas, doorways, hallways, and rooms, speaking out the Word of God in those places and speaking out the truth of what God says over them. If you’re not sure exactly what to say in each area, you can use the following blessing as a guide to lead you through that. As you do, follow the leading of the Holy Spirit to pray over and speak out what He leads you to do.
Here is a blessing you can speak over your home as you anoint it and dedicate it to the Lord:
Anoint the door posts and top of door posts, symbolizing the covering of the Blood of Jesus.
I pronounce that the (Name) family are overcomers by the Blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony.
In the Bedroom: I pronounce blessings of restful sleep. Psalm 3:5 KJV “I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.” Psalm 4:8 KJV “I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.” In the Bathroom: I pronounce promises of health. Exodus 15:26 KJV “If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I [am] the LORD that healeth thee.”
In the Kitchen: I pronounce God’s promises of provision and strength. Exodus 23:25 KJV “And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.”
In the Living Room, Great Room or Den: Joshua 24:15 KJV “But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” May singing and praise, and talking of God’s goodness and faithfulness be often heard in this room.
In the Entry and Hall: God said, He will bless your goings out and your comings in and that if we acknowledge Him in all our ways, He will direct our paths.
Act of Dedication
Having been prospered by the good hand of the Lord and enabled by His grace and power to purchase and build this house to be used for the glory of His Name, we now dedicate this land and home:
To Almighty God and to the glory of God our Father, from Whom cometh every good and perfect gift.
To the honor of Jesus Christ, His Son, our Lord and Savior.
To the praise of the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, Source of Light and Life, to Thee we dedicate this house.
Here shall the Word be loved and obeyed. Here shall direction and God’s will be learned and revealed.
Here may the inhabitants of this home and their relatives and friends enjoy supernatural peace and safety from all acts of violence, including break-ins, theft, fire and storm.
Arise, O Lord, and enter into this house.
Put Thy Name in this place. Let your eyes be open toward it. Harken unto the supplication of this family. Establish the work of their hands.
In Christ’s Name, we ask it.

Our world all around us is shaking. The things that many are looking to, are crumbling all around them. When this happens, it causes us to look up, and look for God. In moments like this, it’s important that we hear a clear presentation of who Jesus is and why He came to the world. Some may ask the question, “What does it mean ‘Jesus died for our sins, and we will go to heaven, if we love Jesus. Does that mean if we do wrong or sin, or bad things, will we still go to heaven?” If you’ve asked this question, or know others who are asking this question, and seeking after God, this is the conversation for them to hear and see. If you’ve ever had questions about God, or how to come to know God, don’t miss this important conversation!
