Franklin Graham and Daughter Cissie Graham Lynch on 7 Day Tour Part 7 – Jericho Road

LISTEN NOW! Franklin and his daughter Cissie continue the breath-taking journey through the Holy Land of Israel as they recount and remember the footsteps of Jesus. The Jericho Road was a large intersection during the times of the Bible connecting areas such as Moab, Jericho, and Galilee. It was this very road that Jesus talks about during an exchange with an expert of the law.

When this expert of the law asked about eternal life, Jesus began to tell the story of the Good Samaritan after a brief exchange. It was on this road that a man was beaten and his clothes were stripped from him. Both a priest and a Levite saw the man, but passed him by. When a Samaritan man saw him, he then stopped to not only help the man, but provide him shelter. In Luke 10:36, Jesus asks the expert of the law, “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?” “The one who had mercy on him”, the man replied. Jesus told the man, “Go and do likewise.” It is powerful teachings such as this that we can apply to our everyday lives. See the sights of the Jericho Road for yourself, and so much more. LISTEN NOW! The journey throughout Israel, The Holy Land, continues as Franklin Graham takes his daughter Cissie Graham Lynch throughout the vast scenery of Israel tracing the footsteps of Jesus and the stories within the Bible. As Jesus was laying down His life, walking with His disciples, He was eventually betrayed by Judas. Ultimately taking the sins of mankind upon Himself being crucified on Golgotha. Mark 15:22 describes this very location, “They brought Jesus to the place called Golgotha (which means “the place of the skull”).

After Jesus was crucified, His body was lain within The Garden Tomb. The Tomb was covered with a large stone. After three days, some went to see the Tomb, but it was empty. To this very day, the Tomb still exists: empty. Watch as Franklin recounts the story to Cissie of Mary Magdalene being the first to see Jesus and recognizing His voice. What is important to remember is the message that is being offered to each and every one of us in the vacancy of this one Tomb. If you have not received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, today is the day that you can begin a new life with Jesus Christ. LISTEN NOW! Franklin and Cissie continue their journey through the land of Israel. Have you ever walked past a seemingly insignificant location to only realize its weighty importance? After seeing a water spring in Israel, this is what occurred to Cissie when Franklin began to share what it was that they were seeing and sitting beside. It was the events that occurred in Judges 7 that Franklin was speaking of when he describes to Cissie, “This is the exact spot where Gideon chose his men.” When God had chosen Gideon to lead his people and deliver the Israelites, he originally had more than 30,000 men. After being led to a water spring, the Lord directed Gideon in Judges 7:5-7, “Separate those who lap the water with their tongues as a dog laps from those who kneel down to drink.” Three hundred of them drank from cupped hands, lapping like dogs. All the rest got down on their knees to drink. The Lord said to Gideon, “With the three hundred men that lapped I will save you and give the Midianites into your hands. Let all the others go home.”

Gideon was thinking he had to have strength but God was leading him to become weaker and more dependent upon Him so that God would get the glory. See this beautiful location in the land of Israel while you hear Franklin narrating this powerful story, how God is seeking us to be more dependent on Him, and so much more. LISTEN NOW! Franklin and his daughter Cissie continue their journey through the land of Israel retracing the footsteps and journeys of Jesus. In the northern area of Israel, lie the calming waters of the Sea of Galilee. Nestled between the Jordan river and Capernaum, its waters are truly a sight to see. Franklin relives the story of the disciples enduring a storm while on the turbulent waters with Jesus. Matthew 8:23-27 recounts these truths. Verse 25 captures the disciples attempting to awaken a sleeping Jesus, “…“Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” Jesus responds in the next verse, “He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.” It is a breath taking thought to consider the radical transformation of the wind and the waves immediately disappearing as these words were declared. Franklin shares hope to all of those who may be enduring a storm, losing all hope in their lives, as he reminds us, “We all go through those storms in life, He’s in the boat with us.”

God is not surprised at the shakings and storms that are being witnessed across the face of the Earth right now. Maybe we are seeing the crumbling of our nations’ economy because we have put our faith in the economy and not in Jesus. Maybe we are seeing the breakdown of our political system because we have put our faith in a political system and not in Jesus. Allow your life to be radically changed by putting your complete faith and trust in Him. To hear about the land of Israel is wonderful truth, but to visit it yourself and walk in the footsteps of Jesus will bring the pages of the Bible alive. Hear these awesome truths of the power of Jesus Christ, as well as stories from those who have visited Israel, and so much more. As Franklin points out the town next to the waters of the Galilee, he shares about the biblical significance of this moment. “Right now, we’re at Capernaum. We’re pretty sure because of the ruins here and the synagogue and what they have found; that this is Capernaum, that this is Jesus’ headquarters; and this is where He lived during much of His ministry.” It was in this very place that the men described of in Mark 2:1-12, lowered down their crippled friend in front of Jesus in hopes that he would be healed. Where else would one start than the Biblical Holy City of Jerusalem. If you have never seen Jerusalem, this is a picturesque view overlooking the beauty of this city.

After gazing at the city itself, Franklin prompts his daughter, “This is Jerusalem. What do you think Cissie?” She replies, “It’s just incredible how much history is here but how much history is to come.” Franklin continues to share about the many armies that have amassed to march against this city and the amount of blood that has been shed during these battles. The city of Jerusalem still stands. In this series, join Franklin Graham and his daughter Cissie Graham Lynch as the travel throughout the many parts of the Holy Land, Israel. When we think of Israel, we may think primarily of the city Jerusalem or the Western Wall within the city. After taking more than 30 trips to Israel, Franklin shares many breathtaking views and areas throughout the land of Israel while also sharing specific stories from the pages of the Bible where these truths originated from. Hear the water lapping against the boat as you see the Sea of Galilee, see the weathered stones of Capernaum, where Jesus carried out much of His ministry, the very spring where Gideon selected his 300 men, the tomb that Jesus was reportedly buried in after being crucified, and many more locations.
