In the northern area of Israel, lie the calming waters of the Sea of Galilee. Nestled between the Jordan river and Capernaum, its waters are truly a sight to see. Franklin relives the story of the disciples enduring a storm while on the turbulent waters with Jesus. Matthew 8:23-27 recounts these truths. Verse 25 captures the disciples attempting to awaken a sleeping Jesus, “…“Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” Jesus responds in the next verse, “He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.” It is a breath taking thought to consider the radical transformation of the wind and the waves immediately disappearing as these words were declared. Franklin shares hope to all of those who may be enduring a storm, losing all hope in their lives, as he reminds us, “We all go through those storms in life, He’s in the boat with us.”
God is not surprised at the shakings and storms that are being witnessed across the face of the Earth right now. Maybe we are seeing the crumbling of our nations’ economy because we have put our faith in the economy and not in Jesus. Maybe we are seeing the breakdown of our political system because we have put our faith in a political system and not in Jesus. Allow your life to be radically changed by putting your complete faith and trust in Him. To hear about the land of Israel is wonderful truth, but to visit it yourself and walk in the footsteps of Jesus will bring the pages of the Bible alive.
