A Supernatural Vision for America: Awakening, Authority, and the Spirit of Elijah, Dr. Kenan Bridges

by

In a dynamic and deeply prophetic conversation, Joseph Z welcomed Dr. Kenan Bridges—pastor, prophet, and author—onto his broadcast for a powerful dialogue about the future of America, the importance of prayer, and the coming move of God. What unfolded was a profound spiritual insight marked by urgency, hope, and activation for believers.

A Vision That Shakes the Nations

Dr. Bridges opened by recounting a vivid encounter with the Lord—a panoramic vision that initially seemed like a scene from the FIFA World Cup, filled with massive crowds and blocked streets. But as he was drawn in, he realized this was no sporting event. It was revival. An awakening so widespread that it touched highways, houses of worship, and entire cities.

This wasn’t a local outpouring like past revivals. This was something global and imminent. “It couldn’t be categorized as just revival,” Dr. Bridges explained. “This was a Third Great Awakening.” Contrary to pessimistic prophetic narratives about America’s demise, he affirmed: “God is not done with America.”

Not Just Revival—Reformation

What Dr. Bridges saw wasn’t just spiritual hunger—it was transformation. People weren’t only filling stadiums; they were filling homes, churches, and streets with worship. It was spilling into every part of society. “We’re talking about reformation,” Joseph Z added, echoing the sentiment.

The encounter came with a divine urgency: the Church is not ready. Many sing about revival but don’t understand the cost or the scope. Dr. Bridges challenged believers to press in with intentionality, prayer, and anticipation for a move that is already beginning.

“Prayer is the Labor Room of the Supernatural”

This awakening ties directly to the message of Dr. Bridges’ new book, Miracle Prayers: 100 Prayers and Decrees That Release Miracle-Working Power. Born from a deeply personal moment—interceding during his wife’s difficult labor—Dr. Bridges received a revelation: “Prayer is the labor room of the supernatural.” Just as his daughter was being born, God was birthing something prophetically in him.

Too many believers are waiting on God to move when He’s actually waiting on them to invite Him through prayer. “Prayer is the invitation we extend to heaven to intervene in our lives,” Dr. Bridges said.

Declarations: Heaven-Recognized Authority

While prayer is vital, declarations are what shift the atmosphere. Dr. Bridges differentiated the two: “Declarations are legal decrees. They demand action. When we decree, heaven recognizes it.”

Drawing on the example of the Emancipation Proclamation, he explained that though freedom was declared, many still lived in bondage until that decree was enforced. Likewise, believers must declare the Word of God over their lives, families, and communities with authority—declaring what is unlawful in the spirit must cease.

When Prayers Feel Delayed

What about when answers seem delayed? Dr. Bridges reminded listeners of Daniel’s 21-day fast: the answer came on day one, but spiritual warfare delayed its arrival. “Sometimes the reason we’re not seeing breakthrough is spiritual resistance,” he said. He also likened it to a seed doing unseen work underground—growing roots before any visible fruit.

Quoting Hebrews 10:35, he exhorted believers to hold onto their confidence and endure between promise and manifestation. That “dash” between the two is endurance.

The Enemy’s Ultimate Strategy: Accuse God

Dr. Bridges brought a sobering insight: the enemy’s primary strategy isn’t just to accuse believers—it’s to accuse God. Using the Greek word categoros, he revealed the devil’s goal is to convince people that God is unfaithful. The cultural chaos, division, and despair are all arrows aimed at God’s character.

“We need to return to prayer, fasting, and the Word,” he insisted. “The devil is inflating himself in the eyes of believers. But God is faithful. He is true. His Word never fails.”

An Elijah Moment in America

Dr. Bridges concluded with a prophetic warning and encouragement: we are in an Elijah moment. A time where the nation, like Israel, must choose between Baal and Yahweh. God is raising up modern-day Elijahs and Jehus—those with authority to confront and dismantle seducing spirits, especially the Jezebel spirit plaguing media, politics, and even the Church.

He declared that God is birthing reformers who carry the voice of truth in chaotic times. “We are literally at a spiritual crossroads,” he said. “It’s time to choose who we will serve.”

Five Things We Learned

  1. God is Not Finished with America
Despite negative prophetic voices, the Lord has plans for awakening and revival across the nation.

  2. Prayer and Declarations Are Both Essential
Prayer invites God into circumstances; declarations enforce heaven’s authority on earth.

  3. Revival is Evolving into Reformation
What’s coming is more than localized revival—it’s societal transformation.

  4. Spiritual Warfare Delays Breakthrough
Believers must persist in faith and endure when the enemy tries to delay what God has already released.

  5. We Are in an Elijah Moment
The Church must rise with courage and prophetic clarity to confront spiritual deception and reclaim culture for Christ.
