Secrets of the Kingdom – Working Your Soil – Part 7

There is nothing more exciting than pursuing a dream yet unattempted, such as starting your very own garden. Dreams of harvesting your own vegetables, fresh from the garden, flutter through your mind. You imagine darting out between daily responsibilities to pluck a fresh cucumber or romaine lettuce for a salad, topped with fresh tomatoes. However, once you begin to plant the garden and indulge in these fantasies, reality sets in. You discover a truth that every farmer knows too well: it takes work! Maintaining the garden, fighting off creatures who see your bounty as a divine snack bar, and warding off insects driven by a malevolent spirit to devour the beautiful leaves and fruits are just the start. Worst of all, you realize that the very act of working the soil—making it fertile and soft, which helps your fruits to reach their highest potential—also encourages weeds to sprout effortlessly. These weeds can choke out your garden, preventing it from bearing fruit. In this message, we'll explore some of the 'Secrets of the Kingdom' that Jesus shared regarding this very issue: weeds sown by an evil neighbor, weeds sown by our own actions, and the importance of continuing to work the soil, especially when you are not seeing any fruit.
