Truth is, each of us will stand alone before Jesus Christ and have to answer personally for our own sin. To blame another is to surrender the authority that God gave us. When God directed the lives of Pharaoh, Moses and the Israelites, the ultimate intentions were to deliver His people from Egypt and show Himself mighty to the Israelites. From the plagues, to the exodus of Egypt and the parting of the Red Sea, the Israelites continually missed the truth of this vertical relationship with God. Instead of their eyes being upon God, the Israelites were focused on Pharaoh, the “better life” in Egypt, the leadership of Moses. It wasn’t about any of these horizontal relationships. It was about God and His people.

Our problem is not with the proverbial Pharaoh or Moses in our life, it’s not Washington, it’s not the President, it’s not the economy, and it’s not our boss. There is an applicable saying in this matter, “I looked in the mirror to see what the issue would be I found that when I looked in the mirror my issue was me.” Our problems lie within ourselves. Only when we acknowledge this truth and respond accordingly will we see a change in our lives. When you look at the journey of the Israelites coming out of Egypt and through the desert, God orchestrated the whole thing. When you look at everything happening across the globe, God has orchestrated the whole thing. Everything can be stopped if we repent of our own individual sins and stop looking to and blaming others for what we ourselves are responsible for. At the same time that God’s people were being oppressed by Pharaoh, God was raising up a deliverer.
