Is Israel Facing a Third “KNIFE” Intifada “UPRISING” and why is the World SILENT?

Anti-Semitism is a reality that is taking place in Israel today. Anti-Semitism is simply this: Racism towards the Jews. The persecution against Jews within Israel is increasing at an alarming rate. In a recent CBN broadcast, the horrifying events that are taking place within Israel come with the vivid images of reality. From bus stops attacks, attacks to pedestrians, to children on bicycles; Jewish Israelis are being massacred and bloodied with knives and meat cleavers. Jerusalem’s Mayor, Nir Bakat, responded by saying, “This kind of terrorism is not just a Jerusalem problem; it’s not just an Israeli problem; it’s an international problem and if you don’t stand and support us in fighting terrorism here, next phase, it will happen everywhere else in the world.”

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) has remained vigilant and effectively responsive as these violent attacks have risen by neutralizing the threats that have risen. Where does this type of activity come from? What causes this? Outright lies from Palestinians have boasted that Israelis are trying to take over the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Images of Islamic teachers stand amidst audiences waving and boasting the use of knives against the Jews.

An “Intifada” is an “Uprising”. According to CBN, Israel experienced the first Uprising in the late 1980’s, into the 1990’s; while the 2^nd Intifada occurred from 2000 to 2004. With these most recent developments; is Israel now experiencing the beginnings of an Third Intifada? The travesties and horrifying events that are being experienced in Israel is a reminder of the words Secretary of State John Kerry, said in August of 2013. “Does Israel want a Third Intifada?” These are the very words that Kerry said in a discussion with two Israeli Journalists. Kerry continued to boast saying, “Well, I’ve got news for you; today’s status quo will not be tomorrow’s or next year’s because if we don’t resolve this issue, the Arab world, the Palestinians, neighbors, others, are going to begin again to push in a different way.” These are not the words that we want to be saying to the State of Israel. Is what Israel is experiencing today is what Kerry was referring to two years ago?

How are we as the Church to respond to this? There is so much information coming to each of us on a daily basis. The onslaught of entertainment distracts us from the very realities that are taking place within the lives of the people that are right next to us. We are living in a society that exalts narcissism, the focus of self. We must shake ourselves and acknowledge that these realities are taking place. We have to empathize with the pain and hurts of others if we are to care about others. It is only through Christ that we are able to deny ourselves and love those around us. Your eyes will be opened as you see and witness what is taking place in Israel, how to respond, and so much more.
