Virginia Student receives Islam Homework Assignment causing Outrage by Parents

LISTEN NOW! It’s important for each of our children to learn how to read and especially how to write. That is the very reason why we send our kids to school. One Virginia teacher, at Riverheads High School, carried out a particular assignment to help her students learn the art of writing Calligraphy. The methods in how she carried this out is causing outrage among parents. Students were given an assignment showing an Islamic text and instructed to copy it down. What was the writing? Of all the words to be given, it was the Islamic Statement of Faith. “There is no god but Allah, Muhammed is the messenger of Allah.” One particular student responded raising the obvious concern that it could have been a simple word, like “hello”, why this?
