LISTEN NOW! Nations watched as Iraqis were forced to flee for their lives and Islamic radicals swept through causing many to seek safety and refuge. ISIS continues to rape women, sell women into sex slavery and murder those who stand in their way. One of the people group who were greatly affected in these tragedies were the Yazidi people.
One Yazidi woman who personally experienced these brutalities shares about what took place. “They were forcing girls to convert to Islam and then marry ISIS members. They beat our legs, heads, and arms, demanding all of us to serve them or be used as sex slaves.” She continues, “They were really determined to harm us. They abused us and took pleasure in it. Most of us wanted to die.”As a result, numbers of these women resorted to suicide as a way to end the abuse.
In today’s culture, so many people live an isolated life. With the many comforts and conveniences at our disposal, it is easy to be disconnected from what is happening all throughout the world. We must break the isolationist mindset that is holding so many captive. Maybe God is calling you, as a missionary, to go and share the Good News of the Gospel in a nation, other than your own.
