Redeem the Land: Open Heaven and Closing Hell’s Gates: the City of Cologne then and Now

LISTEN NOW! Surprisingly disturbing events have recently taken place in Germany, and not too many are reporting about it. Reportedly, ‘mobs of men robbed and sexually assaulted women on the streets.’ This is not the first time that evil events have originated from Cologne, Germany. For starters, one of the most evil figures, known for his persecution against Christians, Nero, was born in Cologne, Germany. In addition, the horrible atrocities that took place under the Crusades, in the name of religion also took place within Cologne. A man by the name of Karl Marx started from Cologne, Germany. If this name is unfamiliar to you, he is the originator of Communism.

Reportedly, as Rick Joyner writes in his book, Shadows of Things to Come, the Three Wise Men who traveled to witness the birth of Jesus, their bones are kept in a golden coffin within Cologne. Because the response to these men was so great, crowds kept arriving in order to witness this coffin. As the crowds kept amassing, the religious leaders of the day resorted to erect a building in order to house these responders. When the building process was halted, according to legend, the builders made a pact with the devil in order to complete the building. The building today is known as the Cologne Cathedral. But, not everything that came from Cologne was bad. Moses Hess, who created Zionism began his story from Cologne.

With this perspective in mind, it is easy to understand that there are gates of hell and gates of heaven that have been erected throughout the Earth. Some of us may be able to recall the moments when we walked into a particular place and could sense the existence of evil, while other times we can recall the tangible presence of God. As believers in Jesus Christ, we can take back the land where God has established each and every one of us to be. When we think back on our first moments of receiving Christ, it started with repentance, turning away from the life of darkness, and beginning a new life of light in Christ. It is the same for the land. We can repent for things done in the land, from generations ago. We can also ask God to pour out His Presence, for an open heaven to come.
