Greg, John, and Pat share how we are fearfully and wonderfully made by God. They discuss the four personality types which have been taught by Florence Littauer and others. They include Choleric, Sanguine, Melancholy, and Phlegmatic personality types. Each personality type has its own distinctive strengths as well as weaknesses. Most people are dominant in one and have a close second personality type that usually compliments the other. The Choleric is known as a leader type, The Sanguine is known for being popular and the “life of the party”, the Melancholy is known for their aim for perfection and the Phlegmatic is known for being a peace maker. None of the personalities is better than the others as they all are important and have value before God. However, each personality type share areas of weaknesses, areas in which they all need the Lord’s help to grown in. The Choleric weakness is that he or she can be bossy, the Sanguine’ s weakness is that that they are not detail oriented, the melancholy can be so detailed oriented they can sometimes lack in building relationships and the Phlegmatic because of their peaceful nature if not careful can agree with others and compromise their values. It is also discussed that each person no matter their personality type experiences pain and although they may continue to function in ways their personality naturally flow, it is important not to mistake the natural flow in their personality as a sign that the person did not experience a hurt or pain. It is important to note that no matter our personality type we are all accountable to God for how we live our lives and treat others.
