LISTEN NOW! John and Pat continue to discuss celebrate Black History Month as they share a recent segment from “Fox and Friends” regarding the very first Black Congressman in the United States.  They interview author, Phil Dray who wrote a book titled Capitol Men.  In this book the author writes about the first Black U.S. Congressman but on “Fox and Friends” they highlight three; Robert Smalls, Robert Brown Elliot, and Blanche Bruce.  They continue to discuss with each other their contributions and how remarkable this feat was considering the racial tension during their time.  They continue to discuss the importance of getting a proper understanding of our complete history and not settle for “His- story”.  When we know the full story we can better understand and have a better appreciation of our triumphs and tragedies.
