LISTEN NOW! So many prayers and petitions have been lifted up and signed throughout the Body of Christ as a response to Pastor Saeed Abedini’s imprisonment in Iran. After more than three years he has finally been released. Jay Sekulow, with the ACLJ, and Franklin Graham have spearheaded so much in order to bring Saeed back home safe. With compassionate hugs and eager embraces, Saeed’s parents see him and urgently embrace him just seconds after he steps off the plane in Asheville, North Carolina.

Saeed later sat down with FOX News in an exclusive interview about his time in captivity. Of all the time that Pastor Saeed was in captivity, the most memorable memory for his was when he was in court, standing before an Iranian judge. When the judge questioned his reason for being sentenced, Saeed responded with his work in the ministry. He was surprised when the judge told him why he was arrested. “You are here because you want to use Christianity to remove government…you guys are using Christianity to remove the government.” Even after Saeed pressed that that was not what he was doing, the judge quickly ordered him to be taken away. This is such an important truth.

In solitary confinement for more than 60 days, he was in the same room with United State Marine, Amir Hekmati. Seeing this Marine in this state was very heartbreaking with him. Saeed shares how he passed the time by simply praying, ‘Each day hours and hours. Sometimes more than 20 hours. I just prayed and prayed. It was wonderful time with the Lord.’ Other encounters and memories of his captivity were not enjoyable as he recounts the interrogation and beatings that he suffered.
