Are We Following the Same Footsteps of Israel Forgetting Our Foundations of the Hand of God? Jonathan Cahn Delivers Prophetic Warning at National Day of Prayer

LISTEN NOW! There have only been two nations in the world that have begun with a covenant with the Lord: Israel and America. What started with a people following God’s mandate, ended up with a people rebelling from the ways of God and hardship came upon that nation. This was the reality of what played out in the storyline of Israel’s history and it is what America is choosing to follow as well. It is these very timelines that Jonathan Cahn spoke about when speaking during the recent National Day of Prayer.

As Cahn recalls the history of Israel, he shares, “But in the days of her blessing, Israel turned away from the God, and His ways, the God of her blessings; drove Him out of its government, out of its culture, out of its national life. It celebrated the ways of godlessness; It lifted up the altars of Baal and Molech, and it called what was evil good, and what was good, evil.” This was the history of Israel and it is the way that America is choosing. Cahn details how America is following in the same footsteps; “The city on a hill that was consecrated to be a light to the nations, now lifted up its most innocent and helpless, and slaughtered them on the altars of self-obsession, and its collective hands were covered with the blood of millions.”

Just as Israel decided to rebel against the ways of the Lord, so has America. “America disregarded the eternal rules of order and right that heaven itself had ordained; as its highest courts struck down the very order of God, and the day it did so was a Biblical day. It was the 9^th of Tamoz, the ancient day of mourning, that commemorates the day that a nation’s hedge of protection was removed in the approach of judgment.”

Cahn asks this bold question to the President regarding the decisions that have been made in his Presidency; “By what authority did you take the sacred colors of God’s covenant, the colors of His throne, and the colors of His mercy in the face of judgment, and turn them against the purposes of God and the Word of God on which you swore your oath? Does the President have the power to veto the ordinances of the living God?”

It is important that we remember what made America great. “America did not become great without returning to the God of its greatness; without humility, repentance, and revival. The ambition for greatness will end up as nothing more than a tower of Babel.” As Cahn continues, he reminds us that now we must not build, “but now the time has come to fall on our faces before God.”

Cahn then walks us through the timelines of America’s past through its energy crises, and additional hard times, but it was then that believers gathered in prayer, standing on the scripture of 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” It was upon these prayers that the nation saw a dramatic shift within the next Presidential election. “That November there was a revolution at the polls and those who ran on the platform of returning God to its Biblical foundations were swept into power.” This was the beginning of Ronald Reagan’s Presidency. As Cahn recalls the answered prayers in that hour, he reminds us that we stand at the same hour in present day America.

It is the same scripture that we must stand on. “That is why we are gathered here today, because God is real, His Word is true, and the prayers of His people are stronger than nations, stronger than superpowers, and stronger than history itself.” These are the words that God responds to. Yes, tragedy is happening, but it is this day that we can repent and turn back to God. Be greatly encouraged as you hear the full words of Cahn’s speech, are reminded of God’s powerful Word, and so much more.
