The Little Sisters Win Unanimous Supreme Court Decision Over Birth Control Mandate
There has been an ongoing battle involving a decision passed down from the Obama Administration regarding the mandate of faith groups being required to offer Birth Control. As is being reported by CBN, an overwhelming victory is being celebrated as The Little Sisters of the Poor “are protected from having to pay these massive government fines or choose to violate their religious beliefs.” An additional encouragement is that this decision was passed with a unanimous ruling from the Supreme Court. This decision can now be held as precedent for future rulings in a court of law. Hear the excitement of the full story of what is taking place and so much more. Also shared in this segment: Birth Control, prayer, let the decision stand, and rule of law. “The Abolitionists” Revealing the Inside Reality of the Global Sex Trafficking Industry
There are reportedly more slaves now in the world than there have ever been. For some, this is new news. The growing concern is the amount of children that are being sex trafficked in the world. As a former CIA Agent, Tim Ballard has worked on many cases involving the identification and removal of human trafficking operations. With his close awareness of these rings, he has also been acutely aware of not only national operations, but also international operations. Because his work within the CIA was limited to the boundaries of American law, he has now begun to work on his own by founding Operation Underground Railroadin order to effectively and efficiently answer the call to this growing international tragedy.
Ballard and the Operation Underground Railroad have now released a new film The Abolitionists, which opened in theatres May 16th. We have an opportunity to partner with the powerful work that they are doing. Together, we can bring an end to the sex trafficking industry in our generation. Hear the full story, watch the trailer and so much more. Also shared in this segment: Pol Pot, The Pink Room, slavery, justice, Cambodia, and prayer. Greg and Steve shared in this segment.
What You Speak Out Through Your Mouth is You Believe in Your Heart. The Power of Speaking out Faith Starts with Forgiveness in Your Heart
Often times we find ourselves in environments that are contrary to what we would like to see happening. It could be our families, our relationships, and even the environments in our workplaces. Could this be because of the words that we are speaking out? We are not waiting on God to respond to our prayers. God is waiting for us to line up with His will and His ways.
Take for example the exchange with one of God’s prophets, Ezekiel, as described in Ezekiel 37. When God led Ezekiel to a valley, he saw that he was full of dry bones. In verse 3, God asked Ezekiel, “Son of man, can these bones live?” As Ezekiel responded, he said, “Sovereign Lord, you alone know”. It was then that the Lord directed him, in Ezekiel 37:4-6, what to say next;
“Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.”
Ezekiel spoke out in faith, in response to the direction of the Lord. The dry bones responded, just as was commanded. Do we find ourselves in a valley of dry bones focusing on where we are and not the words of hope that the Lord has revealed in our hearts? Some parents never speak the life-filling words of encouragement over their families, over their children. This happens because the only focus is on the present situation and not the potential of what someone can be.
We have the power to speak things into existence, just like what Ezekiel spoke. The question is this: are we listening to the condemning words of the enemy; or are we speaking the life giving words of the Lord? Do you believe the dry bones in our reality can live? If we only listen to the dry words being spoken by the media, about our country; if we only focus on the present reality of the Church, then we can’t be surprised at the reality that we see. But, if we lock our faith with the life-giving words of the Lord, we can keep our hearts set on what the Lord has said will come.
Words of faith cannot work if we are harboring unforgivevess in our hearts. Jesus said in Matthew 6:15, “But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” This still applies even when we are wrongly accused. This is exactly what happenedto Jamel McGee of Benton Harbor, MI. While walking along a street, he was approached by officer Andrew Collins who accused and arrested McGee for dealing drugs. McGee shares that it was all made up. According to Collins, he was right. Collins falsified the report.
McGee ended up spending four years in jail because of this encounter. “My only goal was to seek him when I got home and to hurt him.” As a result, Collins also spent time in jail, a year and a half. This wasn’t the only report that Collins fabricated. Collins was also caught for planting drugs and stealing. After both men ended up serving their time, they crossed paths again. Now, through a faith-based employment agency, both men are working together at Café Mosaic.
When confronted, Collins expressed, “Honestly, I have no explanation. All I can do is say I’m sorry.” In response, McGee says, “That was pretty much all I needed to hear.” When McGee was asked why he forgave Collins, he responded, “For our sake. Not just us, but for OUR sake”, as he spreads his arms meaning “society”. This is such a powerful demonstration of the potential of forgiveness. When we are working with human beings, mistakes are bound to happen. Injustices will happen. We cannot be focused on the debts that others have. When we consider our own debt before Jesus Christ, we will quickly forgive others.
In order to intercede for others, we must understand what the Lord’s will is. Walter Wink said this, “Prayer infuses the air of a time yet to be, into the suffocating atmosphere of the present. History belongs to the intercessors who believe the future into being.” Allow your faith and forgiveness to be greatly stirred and challenged as you see how the valley that you may be walking through can be greatly impacted by your life-giving, faith-filled words, and so much more.
