Compassion, Rescue and Provision for Hurricane Victims: America’s Leadership Putting Americans First
Hurricane Harvey pounded cities throughout Texas with its catastrophic winds and devastating flooding that followed close behind. Before this Hurricane even entered the Gulf of Mexico, Governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, and President Trump were already in communications in order to properly prepare for the looming dangers. The actions that have been displayed throughout Texas have been an inspiration to the nation as selfless and caring acts have been seen over and over again. Vice President Mike Pence and his wife Karen were on the ground in Texas helping those effected by the devastation of Harvey. If their presence was not encouraging enough, the Vice President echoed powerful words of hope to all of those throughout the nation. “We are one American family. That when one hurts, we all hurt.” While many are facing unspeakable loss and devastation, the very best of those in our nation are rising to the surface. The Vice President, as well as the President, understands that there is a long road of recovery ahead for the state of Texas. Vice President Pence expressed, “On behalf of the American people with the leadership of President Donald Trump, to the people of Texas, we are with you today we will be with you tomorrow and we will be with you every day until this great state and these great communities recover and rebuild to be even better and stronger than ever before.” It is so deeply encouraging to see the leadership of our nation being present alongside those in our nation that are experiencing such devastating loss and hardship.
While Hurricane Harvey caused mass devastation along the coast of Texas, moments later, Hurricane Irma ripped through Florida. President Trump also worked closely alongside Florida’s Governor, Rick Scott. God has truly blessed our nation with a leadership that understands how to be there for our citizens in great times of need. While President Trump was continually coordinating in order to respond to the devastation, First Lady Melania Trumpwas also present alongside him as they passed out food to those in need.
It is so encouraging to see the hearts of Texans and Floridians rise to the top amidst so much calamity. When Texas was in need, many from Florida responded in any way that knew how. When Florida experienced devastation, many Texans returned the favor in order to be there for their fellow citizens. So many priceless images have been shown in these horrible moments. God has revealed that these storms are preparing hearts and wherever these storms come, revival is coming soon after. There is so much change taking place in America, we can quickly miss it and forget where we have come from. During the last administration, our previous president spoke at the United Nations proclaiming that we needed to forego some of our freedoms. “I am convinced that in the long run, giving up some freedom of action…binding ourselves to international rules, over the long term, enhances our security.”While these words were spoken during a United Nations General Assembly, we have also come to learn that there has been an unstoppable Communist – Muslim Voting Block that has greatly tipped the outcomes of votes on every topic regarding Israel. When we understand these important realities, we can better understand the powerful events that have recently been carried out by our leadership at the United Nations.
President Trump shared some of the highlights that took place during his meetings at the United Nations, as well as some of his powerful words towards the processes that the United Nations carries out. “We encourage the Secretary General [of the United Nations] to fully use his authority to cut through the bureaucracy, reform outdated systems, and make firm decisions to advance the U.N.’s core mission.” The amount of change that the President is carrying out is simply unprecedented. Prophetically the “J” in President Donald J. Trump stands for “Jehu”. Jehu was a man that God used during the time of King Ahab and Queen Jezebel, to change the leadership of the nation. He drained the swamp in Israel and put in a new leadership. We are seeing similar events being carried out in our generation, as well as in our nation.
These actions are also a testament to President Trump’s bold stance and support of Israel and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. When President Trump sat down alongside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, there were continual words of encouragement shared. While President Trump expressed his overwhelming optimism regarding peace discussions regarding Palestinians, the Prime Minister highlighted the strength between our two nations. “I want to say that under your leadership, the alliance between America and Israel has never been stronger, never been deeper. I can say this in ways that people see and in ways that they don’t see.” The President also recently spoke on Israel’s celebration of their New Year. “Jewish communities across the country and around the world enter into a time of prayer, repentance, and rededication to the sacred values and traditions that guide the incredible character and spirit of the Jewish people.” This is such a mighty contrast to our former President that cannot be understated! During the many gatherings and meetings with United Nations leaders and world leaders, President Trump sat down with Latin American Leaders as well as members of his Cabinet to express his thanks and appreciation for all of their hard work, and the importance of their role as allies in the Western Hemisphere.
It is so beautiful to see grown-ups discussing world events with resolve, conviction, and decisiveness. There is such a mighty shift taking place around the world before our eyes. We cannot overlook what the Lord is doing! As President Trump has continually voiced and expressed his strong appreciation and support of our nation’s military, First Lady Melania Trump has also expressed her support as she recently visited Joint Base Andrews to meet with children of service members. “Americans have trust in the United States Air Force because we know you will never quit you will never yield and you will never fail. I also want to take a moment to recognize the families of those who serve.” While the First Lady has expressed her appreciation for our military, she has also been a profound example of the elegance found in the long history of First Lady’s in our nation. The First Lady participated in a White House Historical Association Dinner that highlights the rich history found in the White House.
