As the nation responds to the inspiring words from President Trump during the State of the Union, topics continue to be on the forefront of many hearts and minds. These require our continued focus and prayers. One of them, in particular, is the issue of immigration into America. In response to the President’s stance on the matter, Faith Leaders from all 50 states have joined together to write a letter to the President. These leaders share their hearts, and their desire to stand up for those who need help, as the Bible instructs. According to CBN News, the letter “was organized by World Relief, a ministry that partners with churches to serve vulnerable people across the globe, which placed the letter in a full-page ad in The Washington Post”.
As the letter addresses, “roughly 700,000 young people are poised to lose their right to work lawfully in the U.S.”. The letter continues to point out that America is currently on track to admitting the lowest number of refugees. According to the many Christian Leaders, “our prayer is that the U.S. would continue to be a beacon of hope for those fleeing persecution”.
The letter continues to address the issues and concerns regarding the persecution of Christians that is taking place around the globe. As there has been a significant decrease of immigrants into America, the number of Christians from countries such as Iraq, Iran, and Syria have also declined. “Admission of Christian refugees to the U.S. from these three countries has declined by 60%.”
It is important that we carry a heart of compassion towards these events that are taking place in our nation, as well as around the world. See the full letter compiled by Faith Leaders from all 50 States, as well as the full report from CBN News.
