#WisdomMoments Silver Coated Lips

LISTEN or WATCH NOW!

In this wisdom moment, we talk about the wisdom of looking at the heart of a person.

“Like a coating of silver dross on earthenware are fervent lips with an evil heart. Enemies disguise themselves with their lips, but in their hearts, they harbor deceit. Though their speech is charming, do not believe them, for seven abominations fill their hearts. Their malice may be concealed by deception, but their wickedness will be exposed in the assembly.” Proverbs 26:23-26

This is telling us that a person can be all pretty on the outside like silver coated pottery but on the inside one can be evil. In life, we must find out what is in a person’s heart to know who they truly are and what they stand for. Like politicians, we must find out what they stand for and what is in their hearts versus just what they are saying. We can look at what they are doing, what their actions are, and we can see who they truly are.

We can tell when someone is not truly walking with God as well. A person may say they are a believer, but you can listen to what they are saying and what their actions are to see if they are truly a follower of Christ because we need to guard our hearts not to be deceived.

When someone is charming, and their words are enticing we can stop listening to their words. Also, if we have been one who has been charming and deceitful, we can repent and turn away from that sin and then repent to the people that we have manipulated. Maybe you don’t have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, He loves you and wants to have a relationship with you! You can repent of your sin and make Jesus the Lord of your life today. You can read our stories at Meet My Father and see how we make that decision too.
