“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.” Proverbs 31:8-9
Many people are so quick in America to make a judgment based on self-preservation versus speaking up for others who need someone to speak for them. God wants justice! We must check our perspective based on this Proverbs. Are we willing to give up our comfort and convenience to follow God?
America is a very blessed country, and our response should be to give generosity to those in need. We can lay down our life for others who need help. God has called us to defend those that are in need! It is exercising our faith when we are there for those who are less fortunate.
“What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?”
James 2:14-16
Our faith should be combined with action, so let us be challenged to stand up for those less fortunate and cry out for justice in the situations that need it. Also, to ask God for His perspective!
