VFNKB’s 6 Success Strategies for Business Owners and Entrepreneurs
At VFNKB we are here to help you! We are focusing in this program on helping small business owners and entrepreneurs by giving you strategies for success in your business ventures, but it can also be applied to your personal life to help you to have personal success. We know that small businesses in America employ mostly Americans and a small business owner can be so busy that there is no time to think about what you need to do next. Running your own business is exhausting, and that can make it hard to have the time and energy to get the wisdom you need to keep your business successful. We are here to help you with that! Business owners share the wisdom they have concerning business practices, and Greg and John discuss these success strategies and how you can implement them into your life and business. Be encouraged through this program and know that you are not alone!
The first success strategy we look at is that IT IS ALL ABOUT ATTITUDE! Lord Bilimoria, Chancellor of the University of Birmingham, shares that wisdom. “My advice about small business is that when you boil it down, it is all about attitude. You come up with the idea; you want to get somewhere with the idea, you’ve got all the odds stacked against you. You have got little or no means, and you go out there, and you make it happen.”
There is something special about a startup, whether it be a business or maybe a church, that is when people grow the most! As our business grows and we get to a certain place where we feel comfortable, it can be easy to become complacent and lose that passion that we had at the beginning. We can even forget why we are doing what we are doing. Our attitude will determine where our business will grow. Many things come at you as a business owner and to help keep our attitude in a positive place, we must develop a daily routine and remember why we are doing what we are doing! In VFNKB Coaching, we look at the fact that your state of mind is determined by your attitude. If something bad happens in your business and your mind is overtaken with this negative thing causing you to be depressed, it can end up costing you hours, days, weeks, in production because you are worried and stressed about this negative thing. You must ask yourself what is good about this? This can help you to break out of the negativity and to realize it isn’t as bad as you thought to help you move into a better attitude. Your attitude determines your latitude!
Your team of employees must also work with a good attitude because the wrong attitude is contagious! One way we encourage you to help your team with this is by having a daily huddle/meeting and reminding them why they are there and what their purpose it at the job. You can sign up for VFNKB Coaching HERE, if you haven’t already, where we can come and encourage and inspire your employees to help understand their purpose at your business.
The next success strategy, Bryon Dixon, founder and CEO of Micro-fresh, says DON’T BE AFRAID TO JUMP IN WITH BOTH FEET! “Don’t be afraid to jump in with both feet. You are going to get cold in the plunge pool but go for it and don’t go halfhearted.”
Sometimes in business, confidence can be lost as you do the work, but it is important to keep your confidence since you are leading your business and everything you do affects those around you. You must be your biggest supporter! If you are not providing a service or product that you believe in, then you need to change it. To keep your confidence, you must believe in what you are doing! If you won’t invest in your company or buy your product, then why would someone else want to invest or buy your product?
Another way to keep your confidence is to surround yourself with other like-minded people. One way you can do that is by joining the VFNKB Community HERE, where other business owners are there to stand with you to encourage you! It is a community where you can encourage others as well.
Holly Tucker, the founder of Holly & Co, shares the next success strategy. TRUST YOUR GUT! “My advice to a small business owner is actually an age-old classic, I think, and that’s my gut. That your “gut feel” is 100% correct.”
Something inside you got you into your business saying you are meant for more than the ordinary. Running your business is exciting, but when you face a decision, you must remember to trust your gut. When someone is asking you to make a deal, and you start to feel a bad feeling in your gut, don’t do the deal! No matter how good it sounds. As a believer, we see that unction as Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God, guiding you in what decisions to make.
Vice Chairman of Goldman Sachs Group and CEO of Goldman Sachs International, Richard Gnodde, says to, MAINTAIN YOUR OPTIMISM! “Maintain your optimism and just remember that intensity really counts.”
If you want to speak motivationally to somebody, you need to be optimistic and intense. You can stand up while you talk on the phone to help you to speak more intensely and smile while you speak because that can be heard over the phone. And as Richard said, we need to maintain our optimism. If you feel that your energy is draining, then you may need to take a break. Look at what you are eating, what you eat, or drink can affect you. Also, a short nap can help to get you back to your optimism and many other things. Hanging out with intense high energy, people can help you to stay there too!
REMEMBER YOUR PASSION! Nishi Somaiya, a partner at Goldman Sachs, shares her success strategy. “Remember your passion. You will go through ups and downs. Highs and lows. It won’t be a smooth journey but remember what it is that motivated you to start this in the first place.”
We must remember our why! When you make decisions or do something new in your company, you need to know the why behind it and write it down. When you have the why written down, then it will remind you to keep going when you go through a down time in your business. This will keep you confident! Greg breaks this down more in his book I Will Fight as to how you can find out your why and your vision in your business. Your why is your energy, your passion, and your enthusiasm! Don’t forget to join the VFNKB Community HERE today and join others who can help you find your why for your business and your life. The sixth strategy is shared in the VFNKB Community so you must join for free today to hear it. Have you been encouraged by today’s program? What do you think about finding your why? Greg and John shared in this segment.
