Don’t Allow Temptation to Push You;  You Push Back Temptation

LISTEN NOW!  John, Pat, and Chris discuss the importance of not allowing temptation to push you but instead for you to push back temptation.  In this abiding moment they share

that Christians today because of technology have more opportunity to fall into temptations than they did in previous generations.  They continue to discuss how not to long ago television would actually begin and end at a certain time each day.  There was no such thing as the 24/7 programming that exists today or the 500 to 1,000 television channels at your disposal.  Neither did they have internet and the ability to carry the internet on portable digital devices.  In this abiding moment they discuss the temptation and how as Christians we are warned on how to respond to it.  Temptation by itself is not sin its how we respond to the temptation.  They caution us to walk in humility which is total dependency on God and respect for other people.  1 Corinthians 10:13 tells us that “…God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear.”  God’s expectation from his Word is that you will be able to bear the temptation.  In other words you can stand up, stand against, and push back temptation.  And God is faithful to provide a way, an escape to help you and me away from the temptation.    Satan does not have any new bag of tricks he wages schemes and has strategic plans designed to tempt you into sin but God is faithful and can empower us by his grace to bear it, push back temptation and He will provide us a way of escape.

President Obama in Russia for G20 Summit

John, Pat, and Chris discuss the recent happening in the Middle East involving Syria and whether the United States will strike Syria for President Asaad’s alleged use of chemical weapons on his own people.  All this is being discussed as President Obama arrives in Russia for the G20 Summit.  CBN reports a statement President Obama made in Sweden earlier this week when he said “I didn’t set a red line. The world set a red line.”  When in fact President Obama himself clearly said his red line would be the use of chemical weapons by Syrian President Asaad.  Many around the world today feel that President Obama’s indecisiveness in regarding Syria makes America look weak.  The reality is that the President supported the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and is doing so in Syria as well.  All of this is happening just 6 days from September 11 and just one year ago from the Benghazi terrorist attack.  They encourage us to pray for Israel as she sits like a sitting duck in Israel.  Peace and safety to Israel.

God’s All Surpassing Power in Jars of Clay

Pat, John, and Chris discuss how God’s all surpassing power is displayed in jars of clay.  In this abiding moment they discuss 2 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all surpassing power is from God and not from us.”  They continue to discuss the importance of embarrassing weakness and how God has called the weak things of the world to confound the wise.  They continue to discuss how God can do anything with a meek and submitted vessel.  Paul said that if he is going to boast about anything it was going to be his weakness.  The temptation is to forget who we were when we were called.  The importance of staying in the place of total dependence on God so when God pours out His glory through you it will clearly be seen by men that it is truly God.
