What Happens When We Choose Government Over God?
Greg and John share about the most recent elections and how the country is divided on their choice on who would lead our nation. They discussed what happened to the Israelites when in 1 Samuel 8, the Israelites chose a King, a form of government, instead of choosing God. The Lord was quick to tell Samuel the people were not rejecting Samuel they were rejecting Him. This is what happens when people choose the government to do and supply all of their needs instead of trusting God. When they do choose government over God just like the Israelites, it comes at a huge price. As believers we need to honor our President and allow God to do what He wants to do and honoring what Americans have asked for. Jesus the DIVIDER?
John discusses how many of us are familiar with Jesus as the “Uniter” but do we know Him as Jesus the “Divider”. There is a division that Jesus does approve of. In fact, the division that Jesus approves of is dividing anything or anyone that would divide you and his church from Him. Jesus tells us that he did not come to bring peace but division. He has a jealous love for us and offers us the privilege of being United with Him, but being united with him means to be divided from anything that would separate this amazing oneness. Jesus desires and offers us the opportunity to be one with Him. To walk with him in intimacy and seeing His character formed in us.
