In Matthew 15 the Pharisees came up to Jesus and asked Him why his disciples did not wash their hands before they ate. Many today are just like the Pharisees that are focused on the outward while neglecting the very thing that Jesus looks at; your heart. Jesus spoke to those gathered and plainly told them that it’s not what comes out of the mouth that makes a man clean not what goes into his mouth. God is not interested in our outward actions if they don’t match up with what is happening in our heart. David said in Psalm 19:14 “May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight…”
