The Constitution; Rights for all People- We must Empathize

by

LISTEN NOW! John, Greg, and Pat share about the Constitution and the rights of all people.  They share about the journey our founding fathers took to ensure the rights of all people.  When we look at the Constitution it is important to remember that it all started with the Declaration of Independence in 1776.  The Constitution came some years after and even after the Bill of Rights which includes the first ten amendments. It wasn’t until the 14th amendment came that all African Americans received their right of citizenship.  They continue to discuss how the church needs to be empathetic to those who were not given rights under the Bill of Rights.    The church justified slavery in America and said that African Americans were not human beings.  As Christians we need to be empathetic because part of healing me is hearing me.  If you never talk about the wealth of the United States that was made on the backs of African American slaves, that is not exercising empathy.  God is about to bring justice to America and balance the books.
