Economic Stimulus Can’t Last forever;  Time to use restraint

LISTEN NOW! Greg, John and Pat discuss how the economic Stimulus can’t last forever.  They discuss how the biggest thing we learn about history is that we don’t learn anything from history.    They discuss how although news reports indicate that things are getting better economically just yesterday they discuss an encounter they had with a businessman in the community whose business is hurting.  Then right after that meeting they had a discussion with managers of a very large company that provided food for the gulf coast that was going out of business.  When it was asked what the management was going to do, they said they are all going on unemployment.   America’s economy is built on confidence and the moment the country loses its confidence the economy goes down.   They continue to share how the economic stimulus can’t last forever and we must exercise restraint and just say no.  They share an analogy of children that are enjoying the “stimulus package” their parents provide to them in the areas  that their needs are being supplied yet there comes a point when the parents end the stimulus they are providing and help their children transition outside of their home so they can provide for themselves.  If a parent continues to provide for their children all of their lives they will destroy their child.  If a nation provides all of its citizens needs it will destroy the nation.
    The God who Determines
John, Greg and Pat discuss how many times people are tempted to think that they are in complete control of their destiny but often missed that it is God who is in complete control.  In Acts 17:26 the Bible tells us that,  “From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live…”.  God is in complete control.  You can relax and know that God in the one who is in control we are just living in His world.  They discuss how a parent who provides a home for their children and have made preparations for them to have a place to live and be taken care have already predetermine how things are going to be.  How foolish it is for a child to worry about where the blinds go and what color carpet they are going to get for their room.  God is doing so many things for us that are so beyond our ability to comprehend.  We finally get the ahha! moment when we realize that we had nothing to do with our arrival, our unique characteristics, and to the parents we were going to be born to.  We are just part of one big story God is writing.  Many times people are tempted struggle to find out what they should do because they are trying to write their own story.  They encourage us to “chillax’ and trust God in what He is doing in our lives and trust Him in every way.                                                                                                                                           Greg Plays with his Grandson
Greg shares the joy he experienced play with his 90 day old grandson.  He shares how enjoyed feeding him food while playing with his baby grandson on the floor.  He shares about much joy and work a little baby can be.
You can get  on the right Road

Greg, Pat and John discuss how you can get on the right road.  Have you ever wondered how did you ever get to this place?   Imagine you are traveling down a road and you are able to see what is ahead and there comes a point where you can cry out to God, to help you avoid going down that familiar road that leads to trouble.   You end up in the place of oppression or bondage.  You ended up at the same place because after you cried out to God you went back to the same place and got bound up all over again.  Psalms 1:1-3 says, “Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.    But his delight is in the law the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.  He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season whose leaf does not wither.”  This road will lead you to progressively go from walking, to standing to the seat of mockers causing you to mock everything.  This is the result of everyone who sits and entertains ungodly counsel.  They encourage us by letting us know that we can avoid the streets that lead to bondage and oppression, and that we can get on the right road.
