Building on the Plumb Line of GOD
LISTEN NOW! Greg, John, and Pat discuss the importance of building on the plumb line of God and His word. They continue to discuss what they experienced at during IHOPKC, International House of Prayer, One Thing conference. They mentioned although all the speakers shared powerful messages they continued to contend that Francis Chan’s message was the plumb line in the body of Christ. They further discuss how sometimes people build doctrines on stories or one point in a series of points that are all connected to land a particular truth. If you are not building on the word of God then it really doesn’t matter what you are building. They further discussed the truth bomb that Francis shared in the Fear of the Lord. It’s important to have a biblical understanding of truth. Just because someone heard a message doesn’t always mean they understood or received with the right understanding and perspective. The church is built on the foundation laid by the Apostles and Prophets but Jesus must always be the cornerstone.
2 We NEED GOD- Not Government
Greg, John, and Pat discuss the importance and the necessity like no other time to depend on God and not government for our needs. They continue to discuss how a prophecy is prophecy until it becomes reality. We have arrived in a place and time in America where the notion of leaning on government is becoming more and more acceptable and common place. For instance, the new health care mandate is making it so that children can stay on the parents insurance until the age of 26. Adult children depending on their parents, should this be so? Allegedly they also have passed a law that would allow orphans to remain in the home of adoptive parents until they turn 22. They further discuss how this administration has at one time spoken of the idea of 100 % tax. The true end result is slavery-total dependency on government rather than on God. They continued to share how on Patriot’s Day April 15, 2013 at the Boston Marathon America was attacked by Islamist terrorist. They further discuss how just one year later on the same date in 2014 it is predicted that the earth will experience the first of the four blood moons. We must remember that anything can happen and our hope and dependency does not need to be on government but rather on God alone. We need to lean on God.
The Time Has Come: Itching Ears seeking Word From Reverend “Feel Good”
Greg, John and Pat discuss how the time has come when many today have itching ears for false doctrines and teachings and are continually seeking a word from Reverend “Feel Good”. They continued to discuss some of the truth shared by Francis Chan when he spoke at the One Thing Conference at the International House of Prayer. Francis shared how he wished he could spend the next two hours begging his listeners to read the Bible. He shared how you can’t know God apart from His word. That you must know the truth because people will lie to you and sometimes you will want them to lie to you. How will you know if someone is lying to you if you are not in the truth, the word of God? The apostle Paul instructs his spiritual son Timothy in the book named after him in the Bible in 2 Timothy 4:2-5 “ Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.” Francis continues to share how bad desires lead to bad theology and the following of myths as opposed to the truth. Many people are looking for the Bible to confirm or give permission to their desires and seek out what their itching ears want to hear. They are looking for a word from Reverend “Feel Good”. They further discuss how some in the church will criticize a false teacher all the while they were the ones who searched them out and continue to stay under their teachings. The time has come when men are not putting up with sound doctrine and will turn their ears away from the truth to follow myths. Men that are enticed by their own evil desires turn away to follow lies and the end result of following lies always end in some sort of death. So what do we do? We abide with Jesus. We read his word and hide His word in our heart.
