When men and women make the decision to stand for freedom and serve in the military, each of them “raise their right hand” as they declare their oath to fulfill their military contract obligation. At the end of this oath are the last 4 words, “so help me God”. Currently, the nation of America is at a decisive moment regarding the terrorist actions of ISIS. There appears to be much confusion within the leadership of America. It is a critical hour for the nation to stand behind and support the service men and women who continue to fight for our freedom. John, Pat, and Steve share about the attention that has been focused upon the National Football League (NFL). Recently, there have been more headlines about the NFL and what has been occurring off of the field than what has been happening on the field. Many of the voices regarding these events have been critical and judgmental. As the church, it is important for us not to focus on the mistakes of others but to lift them up in prayer. We cannot be focused simply on the events and entertainment that takes place within the 16 weeks of a single regular season. There have been many reports of long- term injuries suffered from these games. How are the players being helped once the game is over? There has been consistent negative media towards the NFL while at the same time; specific players seeking to share Jesus are dismissed because of the media scrutiny that could come. You and Me Forever: Rediscovering the Purpose of Marriage

John, Pat, and Steve continue the conversation about Francis and Lisa Chan’s new book, You and Me Forever. In releasing this book, Francis and Lisa wanted to challenge and remind others that the plan for marriage was not about being happy but about glorifying God. The church is not meant to be a subculture of the world, but a counterculture. When we begin to ask the question, “How can we make the name of Jesus Christ famous?” we will see a vastly different approach to marriage compared to how the world presents it. In addition to the release of the new book, Francis and Lisa captured a video of how they pursue to live out their marriage glorifying God.
