“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. They share that no matter what we are facing today we can either fear the outcome, which by fearing we can do nothing, or we can turn to God, to the one, who could do something about our situation through prayer. When we turn to God and make our request known to him He will grant us peace beyond our ability to understand.
Pat shares about how he encouraged his son in exercising self-control regarding the amount of time he devotes to playing video games. After he spoke to his son the Lord encouraged him the next day as he read the Bible in Psalms 32:8-9 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you. Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you. Pat shares how an abiding relationship with the Lord will help us to grow in this fruit of the spirit.
