Kingdom of the World or the Kingdom of God… Which One are You in?

Greg and Pat discuss how many dark conversations are taking place in the world.  They continue to discuss how the kingdom of God is completely different from the kingdoms of this world.  If someone is trying to define the kingdom of God by the kingdoms of this world they have missed it.  The Kingdom of God existed before America; in fact America came as a result of the kingdom of God.  The Kingdom of God will exist no matter the environment so when we discuss separating the two this is not a negative thing.  For instance, if someone changes an amendment to the constitution that doesn’t mean that Jesus will change or has been changed.  The kingdom of God is inside of us making us kingdom containers.  As believers we need to go and spread the kingdom and as we do when people receive Jesus into their heart then the Kingdom of God expands.  God’s kingdom does not expand by territory or political party.  They also discussed how the kingdoms of this world will be shaken but what will remain is God’s kingdom.  As a believer you must know what kingdom you are in.  America will stand if we concern ourselves with the kingdom of God.  They further discuss how Esther was able to intervene and spare a people and God answered the prayers of the people as she approached the king which resulted in him changing his edict regarding the Jews.  Today many believers are not even praying for the President.  When Israel had the right perspective, humbled themselves and prayed they saw that God was in control and he touched the heart of the King.  Could it be that today we have placed too much attention on the kingdoms of this world and its leaders than on God? We must remember that our enemy is not a physical enemy but a spiritual enemy.  We need to seek the Kingdom of God and his righteousness.  Once we hear from God and have peace then we can go forth and preach His Kingdom in the entire world.

He Doesn’t’ bear the Sword for Nothing: Biblical Understanding of Authority

Greg, John, and Pat discuss how the one in authority doesn’t bear the sword for nothing and getting a biblical understanding of authority.   They continue to discuss how Jesus said that the centurion had the greatest faith in all Israel.  Romans 13:1-5 says “Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.   Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.   For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended.  For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.   Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.”  The one in authority does not bear the sword for nothing.  Authority is given a power.  The question some have is; will God establish an evil power? The answer is yes He will.  Often times those who are in authority are a result of the people.  If the people are good and right then their leadership will be good and right but if the people are not right and evil then then those in authority will reflect it.  There are many theories today but God has a plan and order to what He does.  If God establishes it and you fight against it then you are fighting against God.  What we can do is do what we are told to do in the Bible in 1 Timothy 2:1-2 and that is to pray for those in authority.  The leadership will turn when we turn our hearts back to God.

 Prayer Has No Limitations

John, Steve and Pat discuss the remarkable nature of prayer in that has no limitations.  If I wanted to go across the world to England or Uganda and have Godly impact in that part of the world for Jesus I would have some unique things to consider.  The amount of time it would take to travel, the expense, one’s energy and the limitation as to how many people one can reach within a given space and time.  Yet prayer has no such limitations and if you wanted to touch the nation of Uganda and England and anywhere in the world you can do so simply by prayer.  Since prayer travels unhindered, unrestricted, and can go through walls and roofs affecting the targeted area.  They continue to discuss how we are made in the image of God although man tends to give God human characteristics that lend you to believe that God was created in the image of man. Of course this is not true.  The best way to know who we are is to first know who God is.  God is a Spirit and there are some things that are important to know regarding his nature.  God is a spirit, He is invisible and He is immortal.  Our flesh is just the tent that houses our spirit and soul.  When we pray it is like our prayers are joined with our spirit and we can be in any given place affecting the spiritual environment.  They encourage us to engage God and communicate with Him through prayer and perseverance for His will to come to pass in the world in which we live.
