Partnering with Government Instead of Submitting to God?

LISTEN NOW! To this day, there are still those, in the church that are scattered across different areas because of the devastation that occurred through Hurricane Katrina. Leaders did not know where their people went. They did not know who their people were; who was part of their flock and who was not. These are not Shepherds; Jesus called them, “hired hands.” John 10:12 says, “The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it.”

There is a mindset that has promulgated so many thinking that we can look for government to provide the answer we are seeking. Are we, as the church, called to partner with government, or to submit to God? We get a clear visual of what consequences we can expect, when we look at the lives of Samuel and King Saul in 1 Kings. Which one will we choose? There are trying and difficult days ahead. For those who are hired hands, for those who have hired hands over them, difficult days will result in being scattered. We can respond now to the words of Jesus and apply his truths and words to our own hearts. Allow this word to encourage you, as you find peace in the strength and trust in the Lord, and so much more. Greg and John shared in this segment.
