Over half of Millennials, which are ages 22-37, are saying that their lives are more stressful than ever before! These are legitimate stresses for Millennials. Still many people think of Millennials as children, but they are all adults! We look at the top 20 stressors that Millennials face and, we hear from an Instagram influencer as she is upset over her account being shut down.
According to researchers, there are everyday stressors that are causing younger adults to struggle to fall asleep 138 nights out of every year! It seems that digital technology is causing Millennials lives to be more stressful versus making their lives easier as many want technology to do. According to a recent survey, about 3 out of 5 millennials, 58%, feel that their lives are more stressful than ever before. Stress is stress, and these stressors are legitimate.
Simon Sinek spoke about Millennials and their addiction to technology and how this addiction releases a chemical called dopamine when interactions happen on a cell phone for example. “We know that engagement with social media and our cell phones releases a chemical called dopamine. That’s why when you get a text – it feels good. In a 2012 study, Harvard research scientists reported that talking about oneself through social media activates a pleasure sensation in the brain usually associated with food, money, and sex. It’s why we count the likes, it’s why we go back ten times to see if the interaction is growing, and if our Instagram is slowing, we wonder if we have done something wrong, or if people don’t like us anymore. The trauma for young kids to be unfriended it was too much to handle. We know when you get the attention, it feels good; you get a hit of dopamine which feels good which is why we keep going back to it. Dopamine is the exact same chemical that makes us feel good when we smoke, when we drink and when we gamble. In other words, it’s highly, highly addictive…” Phone addiction is a real thing!
Dopamine is an unnatural way to get a reward which should be done through Oxytocin’s which can be released in your brain when you do something kind for someone and having real relationships with people in person, not over technology.

The common denominator in all of this is that Millennials do not see a life outside of technology! With the merger of technology in society it lines up with the end days written of in the Bible in the book of Revelations.
“And it performed great signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to the earth in full view of the people. Because of the signs it was given power to perform on behalf of the first beast, it deceived the inhabitants of the earth. It ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived. The second beast was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed. It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.” Revelation 13:13-17
People are getting to a point to where they will do anything to keep their phone functioning as quickly as possible without any issues which have been spoken of by Elon Musk to have the phone transplanted into our bodies!
How are people’s reactions when their technology is pulled away? An Instagram influencer, Jessy Taylor, breaks down because her Instagram account was deleted.
