Psalms 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely Your goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Prayer
Pray with me, “Lord, You’re my shepherd. Thank you for taking care of me, for leading me, for healing my wounds, defending me, and protecting me. As my shepherd, I shall not want. Lord, I thank you that You provide for all my needs. I’ve never seen the righteous forsaken or begging for bread. I have no wants because You take care of me, Jesus. You’re a good shepherd. Thank you for providing for my needs, for making me lie down in green pastures. Jesus, I thank you for the times I thought I needed to keep going, but You made me rest in green pastures, in that still, silent place, reminding me it’s okay to rest because You’re watching over me. Thank you for leading me beside still waters, calming my spirit in Your peace, the water of Your Spirit, to a secret and abiding place. Thank you for restoring my soul, aligning my thoughts, emotions, and desires when they were scattered. Lord, thank you for guiding me on the right path, for Your name’s sake, ensuring I’m following Your lead and direction. Even when I walk through the darkest valleys, I won’t fear, for Your word and Spirit guide me, providing comfort and light. Holy Spirit, thank you for reminding me of my shepherd’s ways, for conviction, encouragement, and showing me true affection. Lord, even in the presence of my enemies, You provide, anointing my head with oil, filling my cup to overflowing. Your goodness and mercy follow me all the days of my life. I’m confident in Your presence and mercy, knowing You’ve prepared a place for me, and I will dwell with You forever in Your house. Thank you for being a great shepherd to me. Amen.
