Creating Envy Among My Jewish People to Lead Some to Salvation
We are grateful to the Jews who brought us the Scriptures. The Jews, as the natural branches, and we Gentiles being grafted in by faith, we too, along with Paul, long for the day when God’s love and ministry through His Church to the Jews will open their eyes, allowing their blinded minds to see that Jesus is the Messiah. He has always been with God and in God’s plan to save all who would accept Jesus as their Messiah.
“Again I ask: Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all! Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious. But if their transgression means riches for the world, and their loss means riches for the Gentiles, how much greater riches will their full inclusion bring!
I am talking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the apostle to the Gentiles, I take pride in my ministry in the hope that I may somehow arouse my own people to envy and save some of them. For if their rejection brought reconciliation to the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead? If the part of the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, then the whole batch is holy; if the root is holy, so are the branches.” Romans 11:11-16
Jesus said to the Jews, “You will not see Me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’” (Matthew 23:39) Now Church, it is our time to come to the Jews in His name to bless Israel. Dear God, save Israel, save the Jews. We pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Check out how we together, through your generosity are ministering to the Jews in the name of Jesus Christ.
