Obedience to the Call?
You can’t serve both God and money. It’s time to re-think church. The Church is not a building; the Church is God’s people. Greg, John, and Pat share that if you only care for God’s people because there is pay associated with that care then you are a hireling. The Lord never said get paid then go preach. The world’s economy is never going to get right if the Church doesn’t get their economy right. If you are saying that you love your church and you are talking about a building, be open to be challenged with, there is something wrong with the DNA of that. Focusing on buildings instead of the church is a methodology that allows wolves to be among the sheep unnoticed and undetected. It is God’s people, the church, that are supposed to be protected.

In this moment of wisdom found in Proverbs 29:10 “Bloodthirsty men hate a man of integrity and seek to kill the upright” John shares how important it is to have understanding and to grasp what is happening. It can be frustrating to know that something is happening but you don’t know the reason why it is happening. He continues to share that the bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 2:11, that we are not to be ignorant of his (satan’s) schemes. As a believer you may encounter people who hate you because you are trying to do the right thing before God and man. Often times they are convicted by your presence. This can happen at work, at school and even among your own family. We are encouraged to remember that if they could hate Jesus we are not above being hated. We also learn what we can do when experiencing this hatred. Love, Do Good and Pray.
