Gossip: Like Choice Morsels

by

LISTEN NOW! In this moment of wisdom found in Proverbs 18:8” The words of a gossip are like choice morsels; they go down to a man’s inmost parts.”  Greg shares how gossip is something that you would say behind someone’s back that you would not say to their face and that flattery is something someone says to your face but not behind your back.  If we let someone speak Gossip into our ears, and flattery to our faces it will go deep inside of us and we’ll end up being a conduit of the adversary (spirit of Gossip) or find ourselves continually in turmoil having to repent before God.  The next time someone begins to gossip to you stop them and ask them do you know this to be true?  Then ask them “Have you talked to them about this?” Then tell them, “You plan to speak to the person they are talking about to find out if this is true.” You’ll see a gossip’s heart drop at this point, and even act offended at times; acting like you would be betraying their confidence when all along it was them who betrayed a brother or sister by spreading gossip to you about them.  It’s always better never to let gossip get into your ears because if you do you will have to contend with what you allowed to enter your ear separating you and dividing you from the person it is about.
