You can even pursue something that seemingly looks good but any good thing put over a God thing is a bad thing. The word of God tells us to pursue righteousness and love. Righteousness is right standing with God. The promise is if we focus on the main thing which is pursuing a relationship with God, then we will find life, prosperity and honor. In other words, if we stop chasing unimportant things and redirect our pursuit we can let the main thing be the main thing. Pursuing God and Pursuing Love.
