Gloating over the fall of your enemy? NOT GOOD TO DO!

by
LISTEN NOW! In this moment of wisdom found in Proverbs 24:17-18“Don’t gloat when your enemy falls; when he stumbles, do not let your heart rejoice, or The Lord will see and disapprove and turn His wrath away from him.” First we learn that we can have enemies.  Proverbs 25:21-22, Solomon Said “If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head, and the Lord will reward you.”   We are not to take revenge but allow God to judge and bring justice. Justice is best left in the hands of God who is just and the one who justifies.   It’s important to respond to our enemies as Jesus tells us to respond to them.  Jesus tells us to love our enemies and to do good to those who mistreat us.  In Romans 5:8 we learn, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”  Seeing how God loved us when we were His enemies we can see that Jesus is not asking us to do what He Himself hasn’t demonstrated to us.
