Called to Transform the Culture

The culture that we live in is so important. As the church, God has positioned us within our specific cultures to have an impact for Him and the Kingdom. When we do not understand this, we fall prey to the perspective of simply criticizing and being judgmental. Any one culture is made of 7 different areas; you could also call them mountains: Religion, Family, Education, Government, Media, Arts & Entertainment, and Business. Without this knowledge, the church has had the tendency to focus on the “Religion Mountain” while neglecting the other six. What happens on and within each of these matters to God. God has placed the church intricately and strategically within each of us. When Jesus told us to pray that “….your Kingdom would come…”- Matthew 6:10, He desired for it be within each of us and within where we reside. Be encouraged as you see how you can impact your culture for God, and so much more. Also shared in this segment: elections, Church of England, the Constitution, rebellion, families, Guy Fawkes, Hobby Lobby, marriage, the rapture, and values. Greg, Pat, and John shared in this segment.

“In Essentials Unity, In Non-Essentials Liberty, In All Things Charity”
The Moravians were unified people that were able to come together without compromising their beliefs when they were with others. The motto of the Moravians, “In essentials Unity, in non-essentials Liberty, in all things Charity”, is something that rings true of what is needed in where we are today. There are
a lot of things that can be considered “non-essentials” in what we are doing. Instead of focusing on what isn’t essential, ask the question: what is essential? Who is Jesus to you? Who do you say Jesus is? When the church can come together, without compromise, focusing on the essentials, the church can be unified bringing about God’s Kingdom in our families, in our businesses, the government, and so much more. Also shared in this segment: spiritual warfare, reveille, unity, funerals, the Duggars, and the Kingdom.
