We are all experiencing interesting days in our world today. The question is: where is the Church? What we “call the church”, is that what God considers the Church? Zechariah 11:17 and Jeremiah 23 reveal a clear understanding of how God perceives those who respond carelessly to those who are God’s people. “Woe to my worthless shepherd, who deserts the flock! May the sword strike his arm and his right eye! Let his arm be wholly withered, his right eye utterly blinded!” -Zechariah 11:17 Think about this. God gets very upset when shepherds do not take care of the flock that the Lord has entrusted to them.
“Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!” declares the Lord. Therefore thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning the shepherds who care for my people: “You have scattered my flock and have driven them away, and you have not attended to them. Behold, I will attend to you for your evil deeds, declares the Lord. Then I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them, and I will bring them back to their fold, and they shall be fruitful and multiply. I will set shepherds over them who will care for them, and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall any be missing, declares the Lord. – Jeremiah 23:1-4
God sees if we’re not handling His people right. God loves His people and His heart wants nothing more than for shepherds to have God’s heart for His people. God sees what is being done to His people right now and how His people are not being cared for with God’s heart. The Lord spoke prophetically and declared, “I will give you shepherds after my own heart who will feed you with knowledge and understanding”. The Lord showed Greg that there are pastors on ice that the Lord has reserved and raised up for a time such as this. Listen to this whole conversation and be deeply encouraged knowing that the Lord is working everything out!
