LISTEN NOW! Greg, John, and Pat discuss the power of Jesus’ Name and how His name is above all names. They share about an account that took place in Acts 3:2-8 “Now a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money. Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!” So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them.
Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong. He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God.” Peter was able to look into the man’s true need and prayed in the glorious, beautiful, and mighty name of Jesus. They continue to discuss how many churches today would address his clothing needs and food needs and those are good and Godly but maybe they would not pray in power and in the name of our resurrected Lord. Jesus’ name has dudamis power! There is so much power in the name of Jesus evil jumps and responds to His name. They continue to discuss the regret some will have when they come to realize they had access to so much power but never used it for God’s glory. The world is suffering right now and some who call themselves believers are ashamed of the one they say they profess as their Lord and Savior. Jesus didn’t cast people out of demons he cast demons out of people. It’s never about the one praying it’s always about the name of the one they are praying to, JESUS.
