Rethinking Church
Greg, Pat, and John talk about how the present day expression of the majority of the American church is not allowing believers to build authentic relationships with each other and the Lord. Believers are encouraged to begin to intentionally build relationships with a few other believers to walk out the true Church expression as Jesus set the example for us to follow. The statistics for pastors say 50% of pastors feel unable to meet the needs of their job; 70% of pastors say they now have lower self-esteem today than they did when they first started ministry; 80% of pastors believe the pastoral ministry has affected their family negatively and more.
Don’t Let Your situation Influence you; allow what you know of God Influence your situation
John, Pat and Chris encourage us to not let your situation influence you but instead allow what you know of God to influence your situation. They share how the Israelites were gripped with fear when they thought they were at the end of their rope and that the Egyptians were going to kill them. In Exodus 14:13 Moses boldly told them not to be afraid and that they will see the deliverance the Lord would bring them. When you face a trial, hardship, setback or challenge don’t magnify your situation, magnify God. Don’t apply common sense principles to a not common, extraordinary God. Trust God to do what He does, to make a way where there is no way.
