The Moravians teach us not just to stand for our Generation but for Generations to Come

LISTEN NOW! When two young Christian men heard of an atheist slave owner who controlled nearly 3,000 slaves, their reactions are still sending ripples of their boldness to this day. No minister was allowed on the West Indies Island where this slave owner and slaves were being held captive. There was no other option. These men sold themselves as slaves. Their reasoning? “May the Lamb that was slain receive the reward for His suffering!” They made a choice not for themselves or their own generation, but for others, and for generations to come. This is the story of the Moravians.

Dutch Sheets has described this kind of action, like planting an evergreen tree. We don’t do these types of things for ourselves, or to receive the fruit for our own generations, but for generations to come. There is a people in this generation that are hungry and searching for the God of the Bible. In this critical hour, it is not for us to think about ourselves, but to be those who would advance the Kingdom for the cause of Christ by telling the nations about the Good News of Jesus Christ.
