LISTEN NOW! Greg, John, and Pat discuss the importance and praying for our authorities. The Bible tells us in 1 Timothy 2:1-2 “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” They continue to discuss how praying for those in authority blesses us with the ability to live godly and holy lives. They further discuss that praying for our authorities means praying in a way that honors them and according to God’s will not what some have called praying but in reality is cursing. They continue to discuss an interview between Kenneth Copeland and Allan Barton as they discuss how its’ not just important to pray for our elected officials in Washington, D.C. but how we need to pray for the staffs of our elected representative. Although we may be familiar with about 12 to 15 bills that have been in the news but in reality there are 10 to 13,000 bills that come before our elected officials. To give perspective of what that really means, Allan Barton says the IRS regulations alone consist of 4.2 million words which is six times the size of the entire Bible. They obviously can’t read all of them and that is why there is staff to read through every bill to make sure bills are aligned with the values of the people that elected their representative. They
further discuss the need and importance to raise up godly staffers that will serve elected representative whose values are aligned with our founding fathers, meaning constitutional, and with God’s. They encourage us to pray for our authorities and their staff members by name so that our elected officials are not steered away or misled from some information that is vital for him or her to know. Along the same lines we are encouraged to pray for College and University Presidents as many don’t see Christians in a favorable light. Not to mention that 71-80 percent of Christian college students renounce their faith after attending secular college. Of those who attend Christian colleges 50 percent renounce their faith in Jesus Christ after attending.
Survey of Christians going to Universities and renouncing their faith:
– 71-80% of Christian college students renounce their faith in Jesus Christ while attending a secular university.
– 50% of Christian college students renounce their faith in Jesus Christ while attending a “Christian College.”
Survey of University Professor in America:
– 2% of the University Professors think badly about Jews
– 22% of the University Professors think badly about Muslims
– 52% of the University Professors THINK BADLY ABOUT EVANGELICAL CHRISTIANS.
Your Congress man, or Congress woman and THEIR STAFF:
10,000 – 13,000 are the estimated number of bills they’ll be presented in ONE SESSION.
– 2,500 are the estimated number of pages in EACH of these bills
– 1 sentence in these 2,500 pages can REMOVE “IN GOD WE TRUST” off our money or flip our nation upside down.
– 0 are the number of congress men and women who read ALL these bills, for they depend on their staff to read them and present the appropriate one THE STAFF MEMBER feels, based on their honesty, integrity, belief’s, faithfulness, loyalty and a multiplicity of factors that can be affecting theirs and their families lives.
We have surrendered our college campuses to darkness. They encourage us to pray for the college Presidents by name and even get a picture of them to remind us to keep them continually in our prayers. Let’s stand together and pray for those who are in authority.
