VFNKB #SuccessSecrets – Put Yourself on Your Calendar; T.D. Jakes

by

LISTEN NOW! Or WATCH FULL PROGRAM! It is so important to know that God is into your success and you are succeeding in your life. Life is not simply about acquiring more knowledge but increasing in the wisdom that we have. Wisdom is the proper application of the knowledge that we have acquired. In our busy lives, it is important that we do not burn ourselves out by not allowing any time to spend on ourselves. When Bishop T.D. Jakes spoke to Steve Harvey, he expressed the importance of scheduling ourselves in our timelines.

“I put me on my calendar, cause I want my attention too!” He continues this wisdom with this additional thought. “Because, if you don’t see yourself as valuable, nobody else will…” Bishop Jakes highlights how success in this life cannot be achieved solely by ourselves. It takes relationships with other people to accomplish whatever we are hoping for. The most important relationship is our relationship with God.

Bishop Jakes highlights the importance of having a relationship with the Lord. “As long as you know that there is somebody in charge, you don’t have to bear the brunt of the responsibility of the weight of what is going on in your life. You can talk to the boss!” He continues to address the importance of the relationship we have with ourselves. “If you don’t like you, it makes it hard for me to like you.” He continues, “because people when you walk into their atmosphere, they draw you into the cosmos of their own drama; and if they’re full of drama without you when you come in, you get caught up in the cyclone of their drama.” Bishop Jakes ends his point with this humorous reality. “Enjoy your relationship with yourself, and then anybody else who comes in, they enter into a party that you already started.”

This wisdom is so central and vital to enjoying the life that God has blessed us. It is difficult to live this life without the pressures of daily life. People want to know that you are real and transparent. Don’t try to be something that you are not. People will see right through that façade. See the full conversation with Bishop T.D. Jakes as he continues to share wisdom about relationships in every area of your life, balancing work with play, having fun with your children, Instagram, working out, and so much more.
