Imagine a Computer that looked like a Human. Could you Tell the Difference?

Every time we enter more information into our computers, it is simply gathering all of the data that we are giving it. Whether it’s through a keyboard, in a text, or speaking into our mobile devices, it is happening. Imagine the very computer that you are working not looking like it presently does, but just like a human being? Could you be able to tell the difference?

Hanson Robotics is clearly beyond the limits of the envelope as their newest development can easily be perceived as a human being at first glance. It isn’t until one looks behind the figure that the exposed wires reveal what exactly is going on. As CEO of Hanson Robotics, Dr. David Hanson explains, “Hanson Robotics develops extremely life-like robots for human robot interactions.” He also describes how these robots are designed to be used, “to serve in healthcare, therapy, education, and customer service application.”

With an even deeper description of the design, Dr. Hanson details the basic makeup of how the robot works. Considering it is still a robot, it has a name, “Sophia”. “Sophia is capable of natural facial expressions, she has cameras in her eyes, and algorithms, which allow her to see faces, so she can make eye contact with you; and she can also understand speech, and remember interactions, remember your face, so this will allow her to get smarter over time.”

There are few bugs that still need to be worked out as Dr. Hanson demonstrates her conversational skills. “Sophia, do you want to destroy humans? Please say no.” Immediately the robot says, “OK, I will destroy humans”. Dr. Hanson’s shares that the goal is to make these robots as “conscience, creative, and capable as any human.”

Since the beginning of time, mankind has been seeking to design their own works to be like God, just as in the Tower of Babel. This is the epitome of the Tower of Babel. If we don’t think this is concerning, just consider how some willfully accept the splitting up of their family just as long as they get to keep the computer. See the robot speaking for yourself and so much more. Also shared in this segment: technology, human beings, artificial intelligence, and Creation. Greg shared in this segment.

Compared to X & Y Generation, Is the Z-Generation reportedly “Less Engaged” in the Things of God?

As each new generationis born into this world, there is more and more technologyto be interacted with. Regardless of who we are, we want our lives to make an impact. Nevertheless, Jesus commands us to GO and make disciples. According to George Barna, “95% of American Christians will not lead one person to their Lord in their entire lifetime”. Is this true of the Z-Generation?

As CBN shares, the millennial generation has lower “scores” than previous generations in regards to faith. “According to research, this generation scores low on attending church, praying, and making religion a priority.” Contrary to these suspected reports, the millennials have the greatest perspective of global missions. Director of Urbana15, Tom Lin, shares, “This generation is the most globally engaged generation we’ve seen. They are the most cross-culturally prepared generation.” It is this very perspective that makes them ready to reach the world for Christ. Lin continues, “They are so globally engaged already, I think they are ready to answer the call to missions, to go.”

It is the Urbana conference that gathers all of the intervarsity groups from both Canada and the United States to talk about how better to reach the world through missions. CBN reveals the life of two couples, Jeremy and Katie Daggett and Jake and Jaclyn Blair, who have put their desires to action by travelling to Peru to be missionaries. While Jeremy is helping teachers in the region, Jeremy, Katie and Jake donate their time at a local hospital.

For each of them, it’s not just about public service, it’s about discipleship. Jake Blair highlights the life of Jesus as to why he does what he does. “When you look at Jesus’ life, and what He did, and how He made disciples, He focused on a few guys and He poured a lot into them, and from there, they changed the world.” He continues to share, “When I think of my call to make disciples, I want to have quality influence on a few people, and those can have a quality influence on a few more people, and growth is then exponential.”

It is so exciting to see young people responding to Jesus’ words with actions and making a difference in the world around them. We are called to not just impact culture, but to transform culture for the Kingdom of God. By understanding that each culture is made up of 7 mountains: Church, Family, Education, Government, Media, Arts & Entertainment, and Business, we can see how transforming a culture is doable. We were created to make disciples, followers of Jesus Christ, not simply converts. So many resources have been made to equip you in the call that Jesus has placed upon your life in order to meet Jesus, spend time with Jesus, and make disciples of Jesus.

Be encouraged as you see how some are responding to the Word of God by picking up their cross and reaching nations, and so much more. What does it Mean to Spend time With God? Find out NOW!

Did you know that we were called to not just talk about Jesus but to actually know Him and to tell others about Him? We are expected to make disciples of Jesus. But, we cannot accomplish this if we ourselves do not first become disciples of Him. In John 15:1-2, Jesus said, “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.” When we spend time with Jesus, it is only natural that we begin to bear fruit as Jesus says we will, “Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.” If we do not spend time with Jesus, Jesus continues what those consequences are, in verse 6, “If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.”

Most people want to spend time with Jesus, they just don’t know how. This is a simple process when we have a plan. iAbide.org was created just for you. You can get started with your free plan today learning to hear God’s voice and spending time with the Lord each and every day. See the full conversation about how simple abiding with the Lord is, and so much more. Also shared in this segment: abiding, discipleship, eternity, fruit, and the Voice of God. “If I could live my life over again I would focus more on unreached people…I don’t want to just entertain Christians “, Francis Chan speaks at Urbana

Young adults that are hungry for the things of God are gathering to learn how they can have a greater impact on the heart of God during their lives. It is called Urbana, and it is one of the largest student missions conferences in the world. As one man describes it, “They are looking at what that next step is, and it’s a really critical time to be trying to figure out what God’s will might be for your life. Whether that means you’re integrating missions into some other career, or you’re looking into a career in missions, period. God can use you either way and God will use you in a huge way.” Urbana isn’t about just simply listening to a few speakers and returning to a campus or a city. “It’s expanding our world views and just opening our eyes to what the Global Church is and how there is a need for us to be a part of that.”

It is so refreshing to consider the truth that these young adults are hearing when they are attending an Urbana Conference. When we speak truth from the Word of God, it rips open the heavens above us. Sometimes, the truth may be difficult to share, or difficult to hear, but it is an open heaven above us that we want. Francis Chan was one of these speakers at the recent Urbana event and didn’t withhold sharing truth to the young audience.

As one who has attended Urbana in the past, he asks, “What would I do differently if I could go back to where some of you are at?” He answers his own rhetorical question by continuing, “One thing I’m certain of, is that I would have had a greater focus on getting to unreached people…I would dedicate so much more of it to getting this Good News, this message to people who’ve never heard about Jesus Christ.” Looking back, Chan describes how his previous actions have been. “I’ve spent far too much time speaking to people who’ve already heard the Gospel thousands of times…” With the awareness of this wisdom, Chan has resolved to make some new choices for the year of 2016. “I have to use it to get the Gospel to people who’ve never heard before. I don’t want to just entertain Christians.”

As Americans, we often think the false assumption that everyone has already heard before. Reality is, each of us are going to be held accountable. Imagine spending the rest of our days that God has given us doing what He says to do.
