Five Things We Will Learn
- Why honor among ministers must flow upward—from the lesser to the greater—in God’s divine order.
- How man’s administration has replaced spiritual fatherhood and disrupted the flow of anointing.
- What Scripture reveals about honoring God through obedience rather than self-sustaining systems.
- How restoring right order among ministers reopens the flow of spiritual blessing and authority.
- Why revival, unity, and supernatural provision follow when the Church walks in true honor and submission.
Restoring God’s Order Among Ministers
In God’s design, the lesser is to honor the greater. Minister’s tithes and offerings were never meant to remain within one’s own circle of influence or family; they were meant to flow outward in honor to God Malachi 1:6 and His appointed order. Yet, where the apostolic gift of fatherhood has been denied, the administrative gift 1 Corinthians 12:28 has risen to take its place—managing rather than fathering, structuring rather than spiritually leading.
If I am a father, where is the honor due me? Malachi 1:6
In this shift, what was meant to be a holy act of worship Malachi 3:6–12 has often become what appears to be an incestuous act—turned inward, as ministers give to themselves or to the very administrations they oversee, rather than to those appointed above them in spiritual order justified as being asked to “supporting the administration.”
Though God’s principle of honor remains, the direction of that honor has been altered. Acts 4:34–35 His ministers are still giving, but many are honoring their own administration, investing God’s tithe according to their own wisdom instead of offering it in submission to His. Acts 5:1–2 According to God’s Word and faith in His promise to provide, this inversion diminishes the flow of true spiritual blessing and breaks the divine order through which God intended to reveal His greatness.
The real question is this: will you honor man’s administration of his gifts, or God’s administration of His anointing?
The Restoration of Right Order
When divine order is restored, ministers recognize that the tithe—just as it flows from the congregation to them—must also continue upward through them. In God’s house, honor always moves from the lesser to the greater, never circling back upon itself. Ministers, therefore, are called to give beyond their own ministry or administration, offering their tithe to those who labor above them in the Lord—apostolic fathers, prophets, or spiritual oversight whom God has placed for their covering and growth 1 Corinthians 12:27-28; Hebrews 7:7–8; Ephesians 4:11–12.
In doing so, they acknowledge that their ministry is not self-sustained but upheld by God’s greater grace working through His appointed order. This upward flow of honor not only aligns the minister with God’s pattern but also reopens the flow of spiritual blessing, authority, and fruitfulness that comes only through true submission and honor.
The Fruit of Order vs. Inversion
When this divine order is honored, the fruit is unmistakable—revival, favor, and abundance follow. The presence of God flows freely through right relationship and right order, blessing both the minister and those they serve. Ministries aligned with God’s pattern carry authority, peace, and supernatural provision because their honor is directed where God intended.
But when that order is inverted—when the flow of honor stops with oneself or one’s own administration—the fruit changes. What should bring life instead breeds stagnation, striving, and scarcity. The form of ministry may remain, but the flow of grace is hindered. God’s desire is not to withhold, but to restore; and restoration comes when ministers return to giving and honoring as He designed, allowing His glory and provision to once again move freely through His house.
Scripture Foundation — The Flow of Honor and Blessing
Psalm 133:1–3 (NIV)
How good and pleasant it is
when God’s people live together in unity!
It is like precious oil poured on the head,
running down on the beard,
running down on Aaron’s beard,
down on the collar of his robe.
It is as if the dew of Hermon
were falling on Mount Zion.
“FOR THERE” the Lord bestows his blessing,
even life forevermore.
Reflection:
This psalm reveals the divine pattern of blessing—it flows from the head downward, just as honor and anointing flow from God through His appointed order. When ministers walk in unity with their apostolic fathers and spiritual oversight, the oil of anointing flows freely, covering every part of the Body. But when that order is disrupted or turned inward, the flow stops. True unity and enduring blessing are found only when each part honors the part above it, allowing the life of God to move unhindered throughout His Church.
Honor Flows Up – Anointing Flows Down
It’s time for the oil to flow again. Let every minister return to the divine order of honor—giving upward, not inward; worshiping through obedience, not convenience. When God’s order is restored, His presence returns in power. The oil that once stopped at the head will again flow down through the beard, across the garments, and into every part of His Body. Where there is order, there is anointing; where there is unity, there is blessing; and where there is honor, there is life forevermore. Let the Oil Flow Again
