The God who has walked in your shoes

by

LISTEN NOW! Greg, John and Pat discuss how God is the God who has walked in your shoes. The God who truly empathizes with us and truly understands what we go through in life as His creation.   Jesus came to earth and one of his functions was that of the High Priest.  He did not come in the order of Aaron but rather in the order of Melchizedek.  He did not offer blood like High Priest of old that would only cover sin but instead offered his own precious blood that would completely destroy and erase sin in our lives.  Jesus is your High Priest who explains you to God.  He was all God and all man.  He walked on earth 33 years laying down his Godhead to walk as a man to identify and empathize with you.  In fact the Bible says that Jesus was tempted in every way yet was without sin.  Jesus loved us so much that He laid down his life for us.  Hebrews 4:15-16 tells us  “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.  Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” They encourage us to walk like Jesus walked and take time and make the effort to empathize with others.  Truly getting outside of yourself to understand and feel the pain of others.
